FROM Union, you're gonna want to get to the St. George university campus. I take the subway; I don't know if there are buses. On the subway, you exit at St. George. At street level you go left and make it to Sussex avenue which lets you get over to Spadina av., and the A&C shop and arcade are just on the other side (of Spadina).
The Spadina exit from the subway is arcane if you haven't exited there before. And it's farther anyway.

OOF your idea makes total sense. I'm surprised Eli is speaking out against it and I think it's just his babblespeak on auto again (from all the calcified controls from the salt).
Guaranteed pot prize > Stream

Also we have 2 players on Toronto who are very interested in Devil Jin, and we have other Dampierre players (Runic_Wolf), so I'm also doing it for them.
Am I included there? No interest whatever in playing him, but I am very interested in his usage, and his appearance at events.

kkthx Russell. I'll be there. Neither rain nor sleet, muth********. Typhoon conditions will give a crisis of faith, though.

As much as I despise the design of Dampierre and Devil Jin, I see no reason for Amaury not to host his own tournaments or sessions with them.

If he wants to run things his way let him have it. Such as how Russell wants to run his and how Eli wants to hold his own gatherings.

I don't mind Dampierre since he is in BD and is an actual SC character, I'm sure he will be DLC soon. I rather not deal with Devil Jin though. CAS characters are a bad idea and from previous experience (SC2) direct copy/paste character from Tekken to SC does not work very well. While it is interesting too see what Devil Jin can do, it is not very interesting to fight against him. Maybe some months down the line when everybody figured out the cast can do and want to try something new, but for now I think there is enough gimmicks in the game to learn and the time it takes to learn about Devil Jin can be used for something more productive.

Side note here: Anyone know what bus I wanna take to get sorta close to A&C from Union? And how much it costs? I'm totally lost when it comes to TTC, but it'd probably shave down my travel time a good half hour.

Spadina station is actually closer than St. George. Exit at Spadina station and walk south for 3 minutes. If you get out at the wrong exit in Spadina station, you'll end up walking for 5 minutes.

If you get out of St.Geroge, you'll be walking for like an extra 5 minutes.

If you see like the convenience store at spadina station (subway/bus area) you're on the right track. Go upstairs, go towards the intersection, cross the street and just go straight.

From Spadina its like incredibly stupid easy. From St.George station you're going to end up walking a road to the same path from Spadina station anyway.

I'll take ease over time for now. Especially being that I was originally (and stupidly) planning to walk the whole way from Union. I've done so before, but I don't know why I never bothered with the subway. Thanks for all your help, guys. I mean it. I'm making tentative plans for next wedndesday. Due to train/bus shenanigans, expect me there from about 3:00 until as late as 9 or 9:30 depending on how safe I want to be. Hope to see some of you guys there.

Hey guys, does Vints know Sophie is in the game?! Why haven't we heard of his trolling yet? Have we offended him to the point he won't even ackowledge the community? Maybe someone should like his post and he'll get an email or something.

Also, since Devil Jin has all body attacks, does that mean he's immune to ALL Auto GIs?! Discuss

I can't auto-GI his verticals with Patsuka's A+B.

Being a Tekken player myself, I'm familiar of his moveset to know what to expect from a DJ player.

Watch out for his EWGF (the guard breaking uppercut). If you can bait it out, free punish. :)

Anyone able to house me this weekend for Smash Up? I'm thinking of coming Friday night/Saturday morning and leaving early Sunday. If nobody can, I'll just come up for the tourney and leave afterwards. I'd prefer to get as much out of my trip as possible, but it's fine if I don't for this one.

For anyone interested in learning Xiba, I'm working on a guide to help you out:

http://8wayrun.com/threads/oofmatics-xiba-starter-guide.10471/

Good work there.

No safe low from Rem and throws makes me sad. There's not much to mix up from Rem, but imo an effective Xiba must use his stance. He has problems pushing the opponent away. A rush down play style is effective against Xiba... I have to find ways to keep people out now that my reflexes aren't what they used to be. :sc1kil1:

GGs online today: Partisan, C3, and Wen.

C3: I think ZWEI has a safe while rising B launcher. You should bust that out more. Work on your opponents gauge perhaps. Get the bar flashing, I think ZWEI has some good tools to achieve this.

I dont think his W.R. B launcher is safe and even if it is, it's slow and easily steppable. Thanks for the advice.

Partisan I can house you only on friday night though, I'll be leaving Saturday night. By 6pm I should be free, send me text to let me know your plan.
I can probably have a small session if you come friday. I'll give some people a call to let them know what up. If anyone else is interested send me a PM first.

This game had so little story that explained... nothing. At least I know what happened to Setsuka between SCIV~SCV...

Setsuka's fate and how Alpha Patroklos came to be:
Patroklos met her at a bazaar in Istanbul. Her name was Setsuka, and she was a master of battoh-style sheath based sword attacks. Known as "Neve" to those around her, Setsuka had been taking in orphans and teaching them to defend themselves. Upon seeing her lightning-fast sword techniques, Patroklos begged her to teach him. She agreed and allowed him to join the orphans in their training.

Driven by his single minded lust for revenge, Patroklos learned at a surprisingly fast pace. But his teacher expressed little joy at his progress. Setsuka had once lived for revenge herself, and she admonished him not to lose his heart to such dark desires. Young and brash, Patroklos took umbrage of her words and turned his back on his teacher. Looking back on it now, Patroklos realizes that the woman he spurned away may have been the closest thing he'd ever had to a mother, what he'd run away from was not Setsuka, but his own heart.

Cleaching the transformed spirit sword tightly, Patroklos swears a solemn vow: 'I shall run no more!'
