Pyrrha Q&A/General DiscussionThread

What are Pyrrha's wakeup options, and proper wakeup game? I find myself grounded and killed a whole lot probably because I'm just hitting random buttons hoping to succeed.
To be quite honest I don't quite understand wakeup in this game other than the very basics.

What do you do to deal backstepping turtlers? This has become a problem for me recently. Moreso when your opponent has more range than you to begin with.

I continually have this problem as well, I really really wish we had sophies / omegas 66B instead

get up and block, or roll to either side, or roll backwards, or get up and stab if they whiff in front of u, or get up and throw if they are in range and whiffed with a move that has quick enough recovery to block a stab

...you can step it!? PRACTICE, HERE I COME! </3
Only towards the screen. Not towards a left side or right side, but only towards the screen (22).

Stepping from crouch is harder. Buffering the step can be difficult, especially when put on the spot.

If Pyrrha is on 2P there is a chance you'll step and get caught by the upswing anyway because hitboxes.

I think JG is the only real solution here, the risk compared to stepping is... about the same (?!) unfortunately the payoff is not... I can't believe this is not launch punishable when JG'd.

nice avatar btw

also, only some chars can step it. pyrrha can do 22/88 k but you always have to step it to YOUR right (22k on the left side of the screen, 88k on the right) or you can just guard into stab.

I believe it is launch punishable but only by 15 frame moves.

I was able to grab, but barely. It's not very easy to step, though.. I think I'll just have to block it and accept the punishment.
And thanks, dood.

I know how to just guard. I couldn't get it in the practice session, so I gave up. I'll continue to do it eventually, but.. xD

what do you guys like to do after 66b (regular) gets blocked?

Usually nothing much, you're at -6 on a blocked 66B. Any straight forward attack has a high probability of being counter hit stuffed. That said, a side step, A+B, a tech crouch/tech jump move, isn't entirely out of order if you think you know what your opponent is going to do.

You can do almost whatever you want against backdash...just don't attack right away.

66K, 6B+K, 66B, 66A. 236B if you're willing to take the risk.

Think on JG pyrrha is only at -17 so i think the best option is either 1. guard impact it because online can kinda screw up your JG timing if the connection is bad, and 2. If your char has an evasive property or an auto GI attack those work too. I think good pyrrha's will only use this move on Oki.
