Project Soul wants to know your favorite characters!

Early this morning, the SoulCalibur Facebook page opened a poll to see who are the fan favorite characters in the series. The list seemed to have every playable SoulCalibur character in the list to choose from. The only ones I didn't see when I was skimming were the bonus characters introduced in SCIII and SCIV.

Considering that the vote includes Lost Swords character, then it is safe to say that this is for a future SoulCalibur VI character roster. Please note that this is not a confirmation for a SoulCalibur VI. It is only speculation on my part. If you would like to have your voice to be heard, then you should get on your Facebook account and follow the directions in the spoiler below.

Be VERY CAREFUL when filling out the information before voting. The form allowed me to manually fill in my information, but messed around to see if I could skip the email part and move on. I figured out the hard way that once you are done with the first name, last name, and email part, you are then locked out from editing it altogether. I ended up borrowing my Mom's Facebook just so that I could finally get my vote in. However, when I used her account it auto-filled her information for whatever reason. All of that was a pain for me, but the voting part was easy.

You can only vote for one character when you do this. All you have to do is click the heart when you're hovering over the picture and that will count as a single vote. Who did you vote for? Comment and let us know who you want in the next SoulCalibur game!

 

As I said before, Sophitia is the less likely get any changes due to how iconic she is. Pyrrha will likely use a different set, perhaps one of her alternates from SCV?

Yeah that's true, but a new weapon for Sophitia wouldn't be terrible. They have changed weapons before for characters so I wouldn't mind really. For Pyrrha I would prefer a whole new weapon and not one of her alternatives from SCV.

What do you mean? If you're saying Pyrrha is a clone of Sophitia I disagree, Sophitia's and Pyrrha's combos are completely different which makes them both unique to each other. Yes, Pyrrha does have many moves from Sophitia, but she fights entirely differently. Plus, if all the Alexandra girls are in the same game together they will all be very different, Pyrrha will probably be changed a lot. Remember when Cassandra came into the series? She had many Sophitia moves but had different combos. Now look at how different Cassandra is to Sophitia. The same will happen with Pyrrha, in time :)

I know, but the essence of the game is to do combos so that why I said combos are what make the characters unique from each other. I wouldn't say Pyrrha is a clone of Sophitia like many people do. I do agree that Pyrrha will have to be changed a lot to be very different though. Also, Cassandra was intended to replace Sophitia. Sophitia was cut out of the Arcade version of SCII and Cassandra was her replacement. The brought Sophitia back however for consoles because of fan demand.

I mean that I think that Pyrrha won't change that much in SCVI and she will remain mostly the same she is in SCV.
I agree that both her and Sophitia have their differences, but in the end, they play the same. Only combos are different.
Oprah have her own uniques moves, like 44K and a few more that I can't remember now, I think is not a bad idea to transfer those moves to the original Pyrrha so she can be a bit more different.
To be honest, I don't mind having 4 swords and shield styles as long as they are different enough.

 

Well, I spoke to Daishi back in the day when SC5 was being developed. He actually talked to me a lot about Talim while not directly saying she was in the game.

I told him once about how I would miss having a character with the wind charmer stance if she were not in the game. He replied to me and told me that with quick step all characters effectively get wind charmer... Eh, not true but meh.

He later asked me why I like to play Talim so much and to see if I could put it into words. I told him that I like her pure spirit and try hard attitude. He told me that Leixia would fit into that category, or maybe Pyrrha. This was before the roster was finalized.

Later when Talking about Talim he asked me how I would feel if she was corrupted by Soul Edge to make her different and bring something new her character. I told her I would play her if this happened, but I would miss her attitude.

Once I bugged him after I found out that she was not going to be in SC5. He told me that his answer is not canon, but for me to consider her to be on a adventure during the events of SC5 and that she was not dead or the like, just "away".

Yeah, I bugged him a lot.

His answers did make me think that he wanted something to make Talim add more to the game if she came back, like introduce a new idea or mechanic or something, and this theme was common with most of his new characters. I am thinking later that I appreciate the sentiment, but does every character in the game add something entirely new or different? Meh. Just brainstorming here, I'm not even sure what I am trying to say.

One Daishi is stupid. Besides the whole squishing Patrokos and Pyrrha onto the roster 4x and using 3 mimics. All Leixia and Pyrrha have in common with Talim is that they're kind. Leixia likes adventure and to find romance on her journey, and find the truth about the necklace. She's still rather childish but adorable. Pyrrha is weak, no doubt about that. She's self doubting but she is gentle. While Talim embodies a higher perspective from those two. She left her home for the sake of world, risked her life to save a child, is mature, is compassionate, sees both swords as evil and is alittle more similar to Sophi in mind, with her own cute personality.

If Talim was to be corrupted by SE to change or be 'stronger', then it destroys her character. It's a retarded idea. She's strong in her own way, no need to make her evil and such. Though if she was to taint her own body with SE, to use herself as a test subject to improve her purification powers, then I approve :D ;A;

Another reason why Daishi is stupid. So why is Talim away on some random adventure when the world she loves is on the brink of destruction and getting frozen by Patty Cakes? Shouldn't the wind have been like 'Heeeeeeeeeey, so uhhhh, yknow in Europe, the swords are waking up right? Just wanted to let you know. Oh and some punk kid is gonna kill his sister and ice the world over with Soul Calibur. She probably is travelling around to help heal the malfested around the world but she should have totally noticed the wind screaming

Also wondering, how is Pyrrha's stance going to be? In SCV, her stance was rather weak and clumsy because her character didn't have any confidence. If she's gone through character development at the end of the game, shouldn't her stance be more dignified in SCVI?

Just something that shows more confidence, not too much or it gets weird like Patroklos. The way she stood in SCV expressed fear and doubt, as she clumsily held her weapon.

hmm. Actually Talim JP if you were to have someone draw a picture of Talim that was tasteful and would not bother the average person or think it was strange to see in someone's place what would you make it look like?

 

The only kinda pic I would make would be tasteful and wouldn't bother anybody so wouldn't have to worry about that.
I like her 1P so it would be some pose in that.
Maybe her in a fightin ready pose (both hands up (like a boxers), one a little higher that the other) lookin straight into the camera with an innocent smile.
