Right techers.

weird.. no one bother to answer

for right techers its either 1A or GSB, look at tiamat's guide for character specific techtraps.

If its to our right (their left), a delayed 33B is a great option. This works against small bodied characters who can tech out of CH WS B, NSS A+B, 66B by teching to their left. It also gives you about +4 frames (thanks to silentwall) if they play dead, allowing you to do another 33B or GS B or Grab combo.

66B should catch all left techers (their right) if not then GS B should work (i think). I do not like the delayed 1A tech trap out of the above combo, the timing is too strict and too different for all characters. Also if you mistime it, 1A will miss altogether at point blank. Keev can do it though lol, cause hes the man!

Engared: you got the sides mixed up for 33B

In some situations you can't catch right tech with anything especially good such as CH NSS K, in which case you can only tech trap with an iFC grab (which could potentially be broken) or go for a guaranteed block 1[A] (though it's not a traditional tech trap because it is a blocktrap instead of hitting them).

I was refering to Left techers with 33B.

(their left, gets confusing sometimes lol; the right! NO THE OTHER RIGHT! :P)

Edit: Gah this is confusing lol

oh yeah you were right.

in any case, it's only confusing if you think about it too much

to keep things simple just refer to right and left tech as if you were setting the options in training mode

I just wanted to mention that you can still techtrap with a move like 3AA or iFC 3B, but they don't hit grounded so are not preferred moves for techtraps. But their still options on the movelist.

Thank you for the feedback guys :D.

Any time. We Nightmares stick together. Ill do more testing for ways to beat right/left techers in the coming weeks. Maybe i should do a guide as this is a very nagging issue for nightmare against the small bodied characters. We have to make them fear our tech traps to increase our chances of winning.

My favourite tech traps are:

33B > NSS A+B Its pretty hard to get off when you launch them after 33B, but i love it lol.
And 3B > 33B > 66B, that tech trap owns the shizzle!

But then again, damn right techers with there damn small ass bodies with there damn right teching, it gets frustrating that nightmare has such a big flaw lol, but yeh definately need to find the perfect way to punish right techers.

Those are extremely hard to get off. From 3B > 1A or 1[A] is a very good tech trap as it can be mixed up with 44BB~NSS B Or NSS A for the people who play dead. From 33B, i think 1[A] is a very good tech trap as once again it can be mixed up with 44BB for smaller bodied characters.

Tech traps i never use:

1[A]...... that is all.....

yeh sure 1[A] is a very strong useful tech traps that catches most sides, but i dont like it, i mean 1[A] is bad enough online, but bleh lol, its a tech trap i shy away from, although if it does catch most small bodied characters i might consider using it, but i believe the hardest tech traps are the most reliable one's, like with:

3B -> 33B-> 66B -> 33B -> GS KK -> Wall = 2/3 of opponents life gone lol, thats if they fall for 2 tech traps though.... So yeh lol, i have no clue why im discussing this but whatever >.<!

3B to 33B is not a reliable tech trap imo. I do it once in a while but mainly to gain (unconfirmed) frame advantage when they get up. Only rarely is my timing so accurate that they get launched by the tech. And that combo string has 2 tech traps in it lol, your opponent has to make two mistakes for that combo to get pulled off. And what i mean by 1[A] is 1A delayed, i apologise. And Keev uses 1A (delayed) as a tech trap so if he uses it, you should use it. All hail the mighty Keev.

Hail Keev! I'm curious now, who is the best rated nightmare? And if Keev uses 1[A], then i might as well find some use of it through other means than just 3B ^_^.

but i believe the hardest tech traps are the most reliable one's

I'm not sure about this but I think its much better to use the simplest and easiest timing-wise techtraps instead of difficult techtraps with specific timings.

Also don't just use something because another player uses it. Figure out why its good and such so you understand more about the move in itself and thus can improve as a player :P
