That ain't no pokemon, that's some kinda chinese miff dragon lol. Either the culmination of man's ingenuity in the field of plastic surgery, or human evolution kicked into high gear. Not sure it really matters which, lol.

Seriously though what a random post to make hahaha.

I think somebody picked up my ps3 pad by accident today. when ya'll get a chance look at the back
and make sure my name ain't scratched in lol. I also have a ps3 pad that isn't mine.

hey guys, me and my bro were talking and he let me know what the az crew is going to start doing to train for evo and to just overall get better. it seems like a pretty kool concept let me know what you guys think. of course there will be some changes etc. like if we do do this we should atleast have one casual station for people who just wanna have fun and not take it to seriously etc.

For right now, these sessions will be capped at 15 people, If interest grows and demand is there, we will try to incorporate more stations. You must RSVP with Dorion(Jaeronmerc). Just showing up will not be tolerated. If you dont RSVP with him via PM on SRK and get confirmation, don't bother showing up, expecting to play. The 15 player cap is in place so the rotations do not get too long, but its long enough to motivate you to win to keep out of the rotation.

3 sf4 stations separated by skill leve(may add more stations if demand is there and if it's possible, with the limited space.)
station A: advanced (5 players)
station B: intermediate (5 players)
station C: beginner (5 players)

RULES:

1. The first session, myself, or Dorion will determine where each player belongs. At the end of the first session, the station you finished at, is where you will start the following week. new players will have to start in the beginners station. If people from the advanced and intermediate stations don't show up, we will bump up the best performers from the previous session, to fill the slots.

players that will be in the advanced station starting the first session are:

1. Danimitsu
2. JBA
3. Sabre
4. SNK
5. dorion

back up players(in case someone from advanced does not show up to the first session):

1. Rickdawg
2. SugaShane

This is based off overall local tourney results and are the most consistent top 5 placers. I will assign the remaining slots the day of based on who's there.

2. King of the Machine(KOTM) format will be used on all three stations. One person on each station will be responsible for recording all wins. Someone else will takeover record keeping if the original keeper gets demoted to the next station(demotions will be explained further down.)

3. Arcade mode will be used! This mode will be used so the winner cannot keep switching characters to counter each upcoming opponenet. This gives the challengers a chance to beat that character that's streaking.

4. Promotion/Demotion Match: After an hour, the person with the most wins in station B and C will challenge the player with the least amount of wins in the next ranked station(best player in station C will challenge worst player in station B, and the best player from B will challenge the worst in A.). the promotion matches will be best 2 out of 3 matches

5. If the player from the lower station defeats the player from the higher station, that player will be promoted to the next station, and the loser will be demoted. If the player up for promotion loses his/her match, that person will be banned from promotion matches for the rest of the night. Basically, I will stop keeping track of your wins for the rest of the night.

6. If you are constantly the worst player in the beginner bracket week after week. You will be pulled to the side, and a possible ban may happen. This will be on a case by case basis. It is possible that the other beginners are also learning at the same rate as you. So if I see improvement atleast, you will not be banned. If you constantly get 0 wins, there is a problem, and it probably means you are more of a casual player. It's nothing personal, and there's nothing wrong with being casual. But these sessions are for serious training to become better, and this may not be for you.

7. If you RSVP and repeatedly fail to show without plenty of notice time, you are subject to banning for an un-specified amount of time. We will not tolerate flakey people that fail to show up, and effectively killing a slot for the whole night. You must give us plenty of notice time to cancel your RSVP so we have time to let people know that we have an available slot that someone else can fill. We understand real life gets in the way, just please let us know, ASAP!

8. Grudge/rival matches: coming soon. awaiting ideas. can use some feedback here.

====== DOUBLE POST AUTO-MERGE ======
also one more thing. so sick of the stupid fucking adds that pop up on this shitty forum. is there someone to disable that shit. if not we should post somewhere else

everytime i come to this page i get them and i have to click ignore this add just to get to the boards. and countless times i've come to this board and its been down. imo its the worse board i have ever posted on.

also if anyone has zzy number could i get it im heading out to munnsville(syracuse) this week for work. gonna be bored as shit

Couple things,

First ggs to everyone last night. Games were chill. Good to see people are still playing even though things seem to have slowed down a bit.

Second, I gotta say that Hazama looks pretty cool. Next time we're at the Barcade maybe someone can give me a little BB rundown, and I'll see how that game is. Celes if you know about Hazama maybe you can show me a few things.

Last, Kyle I'd be down for that AZ plan. I think we should all agree on it though before we start something like that. We might have to play around with the number of stations, and the players in each station to ensure mobility. This would be a failure if it just meant everyone kept playing the same people week after week. It would be a success if it worked as a motivator and people really got better as a result.

Another thing we talked about yesterday would be a "hater night." I like that name, but it really would be a "constructive criticism night". Players would offer advice to each other after battles, specifically about new things to try or think about, we were thinking maybe we don't do enough of that? The reason for this was a discussion how a lot of Buffalo (aka not Jug) applies rather than innovates.

By this I mean that we each have our own skill set, and we apply it as best we can when we play matches. But when we lose, we say something like "Abel doesn't have any anti air" or "Honda, low tier for life" instead of realizing that we need to expand our skill set, not simply do what we already know harder, better, faster, stronger, etc

====
So tl;dr if Buffalo wants to go into training for Evo or some other big tourny, we have ideas, and maybe we can talk about them on the forum or at game nights.

big news. PM / IM or text me for BB:CS for the PC [ figured i shouldn't just put the link on the board ] it works. glory linked it to me lol i gave up looking for this shit and he finds it. anyways.. you need to have a pretty high end PC. that is all. BACK TO THE JETS GAME!

edit: here are the specs for the arcade board. if your PC can handle it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taito_Type_X#Taito_Type_X.C2.B2

obviously no online play since it's arcade.. but good for individual practice before meeting up with everyone @ the barcade.

def, i think we should only have 2 groups tho instead of 3 and like it said it should only be for people who are serious, i.e people who show up to atleast one game night a week

Joe if you can figure out how to get it working without input lag, I'll get it from you once I get my new computer. But the input lag from joy2key was pretty severe when we tried it on Haag's comp, and his is probably gonna be more beast than anything I buy.

As for Kyle's idea, all I can say is good luck splitting people up into skill labeled groups like that. I definitely don't want to be in that room, lol. And banning players because they're not winning? That's just a shitty idea imo, I know you guys are trying to get all serious and shit but this is not a job, this is a game. Careful not to take TOO much fun out of it.

Chris that was obviously a copy paste, their scene is big enough that it can ban people who aren't serious. That would be one of the parts we don't emulate. Right now we just trying to get everyone to improve, so we are throwing out ideas right now. It was the same with the weekly ranbats we did last year.

Input lag as Chris mentioned, though just for reference you need almost twice the power of the arcade board specs to run it on PC, cause arcade board doesn't have the overhead of running a full OS.

King of the machine idea looks good to me, especially cuz we do seem to have people on a bunch of different skill levels....playing with people around my level tends to make me play better because I feel like I have something to prove to both myself and others, so I love the idea of making a so called Buffalo tier list. Makes all the games more competitive as there won't be as many straight up beat downs like Jug hands out to everyone.

Sorry I keep blowing you guys off too...I have ladies to woo and a social rep to uphold, unfortunately.

Hope you have better luck than I had this weekend, no idea wtf me and Jon walked into on this one lol. One wasn't even single and the other was bipolar? They seemed like normal girls when we met them on Tuesday!

mine runs it without input lag ^^ i use xpadder to map the buttons and it's running real good. just the only problem i'm having is... i have play a type A setup by selecting type B when i select characters. when i select type A the buttons are screwed up. i dunno how to fix it haha.

for button 1-4 i just did lk, lp, mp, hp if i were to cite street fighter buttons. anything i can do to fix it brian?

Thats same issue we had before, unfixable afaik. Good to know xpadder works better than joy2key. Xpadder isnt free though I believe.

I'll have to ask Dave and Shardz to see if they got multiple setups to work properly, but we tried several fixes and couldn't come to any good solution. Worth it to try and use Xpadder if there's no input lag though.

Yoo what's up Buffalo. :o

We're gonna be having an SC gathering at my place on Saturday. Some players from Montreal are planning on coming, as well as a bunch of Toronto players and some out of towners. I'm expecting around 10 people, maybe more. I'm sure Cha Cha is the last SC4 player standing in Buffalo, but even if it's just you Brian, it would be cool if you could make it. Let's keep the Soul burning. :)
