BANNED FOREVER
I've flip-flopped on this one for a LONG time... but I've made up my mind. SC4 isn't going out like this in the Northeast on my watch. With that, I proudly present Full Speed Aerial Kicks. This event is my way of saying thank you to the SC community I've loved so dearly. Without further ado, here are the details.
Where?
Game Underground
1251 Worcester Road
Framingham, MA 01701-5235
(508) 283-1503
When?
September 10th-12th
The actual tournaments will be held on Sept 11th (Saturday) and Sept 12th (Sunday),
However GU will be open for casuals on it's friday fight-night on Sept 10th, so if you play other games besides SC4, show up on friday and get some games in!
How Much?
20$ Entry, Payouts to Top 5.
There WILL be a 5$ Venue Fee, because I cannot avoid it as the size of this event gets larger. However, I will be offering some incentives to avoid the venue fee if possible, because GU is fairly sure they can make some $ in sales of drinks/snacks and games during the event, and have always got my back. I gotta get theirs.
Usually in the past I would keep the entry fee cheap and provide a pot bonus, but the money I would otherwise spend on pot bonus is going to other causes (i.e. renting hotel rooms for far travellers, and other things).
In any case, there might end up being a pot bonus anyways, some specific community members who shall remain nameless have expressed a potential interest in doing so.
What is "Iron Man" Format?
Iron Man format means this entire tournament runs on a Round Robin format.
Every person in the tournament will play EVERY other person in the tournament in a 3 game set.
All 3 games are played out for purposes of tie-breaking.
Unlike other Round Robin formats, this one does NOT enforce a character lock. I highly suggest that you take advantage of blind selection if you need to.
This means in order to be the best, you have to beat the majority of your opponents. This test of matchup experience and skill will ensure one thing- the winner of this tournament is clearly the best overall player.
Concerned about time? Don't be. I will have at LEAST 12 stations set up for use. In addition to that, I will have assistants who aren't participating in the tournament calling and taking the results of matches. There will be scheduled breaks in this long string of matches as well. 2/3 of your matches will take place on Saturday, and the remaining 1/3 on Sunday.
Tournament Rules
Playstation 3, Version 1.03
Stage Select Random initially, losing player of a game can opt to keep stage or random select another stage.
Winner must keep same character, loser may opt to change characters.
Button Re-Maps legal but MUST be done before the match, on the character select screen.
Pausing during a match will result in a forfeiture of that round (not match).
