This thread is FRAMEWORK for resurrecting SC4 back on a global level! Please discuss if u are interested in helping or can provide general input.

1. Re-establish the east coast.
2. Re-establish the west coast.
3. Re-establish other regions such as midwest, etc.
3. Re-establish the most important exclusive event for SC4 aka Nationals or Internationals or whatever the title might be.
4. Re-establish SC4 at 2-4 important majors on the east coast and west coast. Preferably 2 on each coast for the reasons stated below in number.
5. Focusing on the geographic locations of the player base. In other words where are the competitors located and trying to establish venue's in neutral locations that will make it feasible cost wise for the players in that area increasing the number of attendees at the event (keeping the travel cost as neutral as possible).

If ur an online or offline player that is all about attending tournaments or is interested in doing so can u please state so in this thread. Leave bans or no bans and reasons for it outside this thread unless u are someone who will or will not attend an event because Hilde and or Algol is legal or not legal and keep it that simple. No explanations in regard to why is needed as not to derail the main point of the thread. This includes international competitors.

Yet, I'm not sure if the game will be played here. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing another SC game. If one is released I will play it for sure.
 
This thread is attempt to revitalize the SC scene by making people aware of who is in there area and finding a neutral ground in meeting up that is cost effective within the area. I think if what I am attempting to do here works we could get back in Evo as well but the turnouts have to support it. We have to help ourselves and since its not practical that people will be able to make all tournaments that are thrown for cost reasons its important to find a neutral zone in which its cost effective for all to get there and neutral. I believe we have the numbers to at least rival BB, MB to get in but again the turnouts throughout the year have to support it.

The Tri-State area NY, NJ, PA are at least 30-40 people deep and a number of people in this area have cars and such that could help pick others in their area up and people would be willing to chip in on gas etc. So I have been thinking about where would a neutral point be in which it would increase the potential numbers of attendees.

This is a list with a number of missing people that all would be willing to travel to tournaments in the upper east coast area alone. Some people again get more reason or incentive to go to a tournament when a large number goes.

I guess it's worth mentioning that I'm teaching some players the game in my own city, sooo...
2-3 Casuals. As they mainly play SF, I wouldnt expect them to convert to SC exclusively. That said I'm sure they would support any local tournament or gathering with SC with their attendance.

Also provide the list of names that have been around even if they stopped attending. Its good to know ur possible attendees. Some people have the kind of personality that they need to know how many will go or is attending before they will go themselves. I'm partially one of those so I know.

We're the only two, of my knowledge, that actually play this game in Reno. There was another guy, but he is pretty much just online and I haven't seen him sign on in about 6months. I believe Vegas still has a scene though.

We have threads in Regional Matchmaking where people could find this out if they needed to. I'm not seeing how making one list is going to help revitalize things, especially when half of the people listed so far are either not active or play something else.

If you want to see SC4 resurrected on a global level, then it starts with the people in each community wanting to play Calibur offline. Unfortunately, there's not enough people left that still play Calibur. Alot of people rather play a game that's either newer, scrub friendly, or has more players.

But the only game that's really active is Super Street Fighter 4. All these other games are in the same boat as we are or have their numbers aided at tournaments headlined by SSF4.

I would like nothing more than a global resurgence, but let's be real. The only thing that is really going to bring people back to Calibur is a fresh start with a new game.

The idea of a neutral ground won't happen. People just have to find the best place that they don't mind traveling to. Regionally, people should go to where the active scenes for Calibur are located. Nationally, we should plan around a couple of majors since our player base isn't huge and people's ability to travel is limited. I would like to see this community roll deep at a couple of events that people will have time to plan for ahead of time like Devastation/EVO/NEC. If you can travel to anything extra, then cool.

Another issue that I have is that Calibur players either do not like to register or pre-register for tournaments. It doesn't take that long to let people know that you are going to attend a tournament. We have a huge tournament in Philly next week that 5 people pre-registered for. WTF? Take two seconds to let people know that you are coming, and add some hype while you are at it.

Talk about national/international events can wait until more people are playing and active. But anyway, I do hope to see more people either playing Calibur, returning to Calibur, or finally doing something offline. Holla at me.
 
Hey Omar, me and Zero actually live in New Jersey - we just frequently session with the PA guys because they are close to us. Anyway, good to see you posting and being active on the boards again.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see that Anthony posted before me and put our names in for the general area.
