Greetings to all you good fighters!

Maedhros

[12] Conqueror
Hi. It's Maedhros here (for those who're wondering, it's a character from Tolkien's "Silmarillion"), but I go on PSN as the Serbian language transcription of the name - Maidros.

Back when I was a high school student in 2002, I used to go once a week with my school buddy on 30 minute walks for our hourly sessions of Soul Calibur on Dreamcast in a club. We were simply captivated by it. The first time I saw Kilik jumping off the ground making a figure in the air, or Xianghua's seamless moves, I knew I was playing something a lot better (or at least prettier) than Mortal Kombat or Tekken, that I previously got used to playing.
After that SCII came and not having money to buy ourselves a PS2, we continued visiting the club.
Anyway, my friend was mostly better than me, but I didn't mind. I really enjoyed the sensation of the heat of battle. It was truly unique while it lasted, which was until 2004, when we graduated. :P

SCIV I suddenly started playing at the end of 2009 with my dorm friends in Japan, and when I saw that I'm taking the game a little bit more seriously then others, I decided to start playing it online in may 2010 (back then I used the nick Vrachar_no_G-Man). Eventually, someone recommended to me this forum because of all the truly useful tips (initially, I was lost on how to do Ivy's SS/CS).

Serbia is not a lively player scene when it comes to offline community. If there is a bigger PS3 game arcade center, it's LCDs will be glowing green with PESs and FIFAs, which is to me really annoying. So right now I'm really limited to online, which kinda sucks.

So there you have it. I'm looking forward to having some ggs with people in Europe. Just don't expect too much of me. I'm only starting to get a grasp of what being a good player is. :)

Pocky Yoshi says hello and is pleased to meet you. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here. I will say I hate Ivy mainers because they're mean to Pocky Yoshi. *pouts*

Anyways, I'll leave it to the mods and Ivy masters to help you.

Maedhros, hi again. You can find links to Ivy's section in my signature.

I beg your pardon?

Tell me who's mean to you and I will punish them.

This one guy online.....blah blah blah blah. And then he lagged me with blah blah. Blah blah got hatemail for just punishing him. Then he started to insult me into blah blah blah blah lol.

Hehe, thanks everybody! I like you, Pocky-Yoshi. Too bad we're too far from each other to have a decent connection speed during our match... And I probably can't even scratch you with my skills right now even if the internet was good. xD

u never know i would say try and get a wired connection and un task ur internet meaning just have ur ps3 usin it

Uh... What? xD
If you're proposing that I somehow make my internet faster than 2Mbps, I must disappoint you, for I lost my magic wand at the Battle at Hogwarts. :D
In Serbia, internet is not cheap. Unfortunately, this is all the speed I can afford, but it's quite enough for Europe. Middle Europe (Germany, Poland, Austria etc.) I read as 5 bars, whereas France, Spain and GB I read as 4 bars. USA is 3 bars max.
Back in Japan I had a very fast internet (40 Mbps), and even then some regions were off-limits to me...

You are describing bandwidth. Bandwidth isn't the problem latency is. Halfway around the world will always give bad latency. It's currently an unavoidable limitation and I imagine we won't see a way around it in our life time.

It's okay. What matters is we're hyped for SCV.

We all shine under SCV's staaar of destiny. ^^

Yeah, but my speed is so small, if I dived the usage of my internet between devices, playing online would become impossible. xD Believe me, when I'm playing online, nothing else is hooked up.

oh i believe you im a programmer i know how things can slow down in a hurry

Yeah, but we're on the same continent. How is your connection when playing against someone in the Americas?
Well, depends where they live. I sometimes get 5 bars with people in NY. I only get half-decent connections with east-coast residents.
