Originality

First off, hi, everyone! This is my first post! I have a character named Cleric who is an old friend of Siegfried's. She is wearing all the gorgon armor, but instead of the helmet, she has the priestess mantle. She has the Alignment skill and uses Siegfried's Requiem weapon. Here is the story...

When she found out that her old friend Siegfried had gone to destroy Nightmare, she was shocked. Why would he go alone? He needed help. She goes out to help Siegfried. Taking up the sword he had left behind, she sets off.

Then, when she gets to the tower of remembrance (after fighting Raphael and his minions, then Astaroth and Tira and Voldo, then Kamikirimusi) she meets Siegfried (along with and Sophitia), who tells her she shouldn't come. She says,"You can't do this alone. I won't let you do this alone. After defeating him and convincing him to let her come with, they fight Nightmare together. Her ending starts just like Siegfried's, but she stops him from freezing himself. She then asks the gods to atone Siegfried (I know- Sophitia and Hilde rip-off).
p.s. I agree, I'm gonna be sick if I see one more Cloud. They are good and all, but be original!

Welcome fresh meat. Hope you enjoy your stay at 8wayrun. My first suggestion is work on the story. Just because it is in story mode, does not mean you can not delve into this world and have to 100% of the time include SC characters. Make more characters and flesh all of them out if you wish to have a story.
 
i was gone the whole weekend so i missed out on a couple of things.

1. welcome Silvershire. I'll expect some pics of those characters soon. :)
2. Shadow, since i was gone this weekend i did get to work on anything at all including your pic. so i'll just tell you i'm working on it but i don't wanna give you anymore dates.
3. these are just a couple of pics from last year i made real quick. they're both picks of Sarah Rayne (one of neutral Sarah and one of dark Sarah). it's to help get you in that holiday spirit!

I will admit that the story slapped me rather silly, but its Silvershire's character. Sure this originality thread may be about making stories for your CAS, but isn't it just about showing off and discussing fashion? On that note, I await when he posts his CAS formula and/or pic to show it off.

Again, just a suggestion. Im saying he does not have to be "restricted". I am saying go wild with the story.

i agree. with how the story is now it's basically a redoing of another character's story that already exist in the game. basically it's something we have all "heard before". put some originality to it. heck your character doesn't even have to be from the soul calibur universe or be related to it. we just want some original characters with some original stories.
 
Wow, I am so envious of everyone's extensive knowledge of photoshop ^^; I'm the kind of person who'd ask if photoshop is the place you get your prints done XD Anyway, it isn't Christmas themed unfortunately but here's something :

It's a picture of Ryouta and Catherine, two of my characters who actually have nothing to do with each other and somehow look good cosplaying as animals together XD I'm just glad my guy looks like a guy this time O.o

The song is 'Love Like Woe' by The Ready Set (I need to stop being so cheesy ^^;)

No prob. I also suggest looking at what makes a good story if your ever curious. Remember: Character depth: Does not have to be traumatized. If they are, try to avoid the cloud trope. Character growth: Over time, a person changes, always. If they are the same exact person by the end of your tale, then they are not believe-able. Yes, they should be the same person, but there needs to be a distinct difference in the beginning and end of the story.

For the story it self, you could always try the 3 act style. It tends to work, but never skip act 1, it tends to come back and bite ya on the ass xD. I look forward to see what your character looks like.

i couldn't agree more. if you need help, or anyone for that matter, just ask the writers and idea makers of this thread like myself and Mamoru for example. I'd personal be happy to help!

Actually.... I stopped using photoshop and switched to a program called Paint Tool SAI. It's actually a lot easier to do digital art with *in my opinion* and is quickly becoming popular with Anime Artists on deviant art.

Even the artwork for the video game "Catherine" was made using Paint Tool SAI :3
 
I use Manga Studio Debut 4.0 for my drawings. and my bamboo tablet. i swear I'm finishing the drawing portion of Tarein tonight and will begin on the transfer and touch up tomorrow. it took me a while to think of a pose for her and by the time I was thinking about it i already had the head drawn, which took me forever, so i ain't doin' that again. so I decided on the pose and the bodies of my characters don't usually take too long.

You have a bamboo tablet :3 How is it, do you like it, does it work well :D I'm thinking about getting one for christmas. I seriously need to upgrade from my Intuos 2 tablet XD

works very well! i suggest getting a good sized on for when you're trying to draw a straight line and you run out of room it's like "daggonit." and that could easily be changed by just zooming out really. but they are really good because the pen doesn't need batteries that I know of like most pen tablets do. the sensitivity works really well and makes for a pretty good mouse. so yeah, just make sure you get one that would be able to cover your computer screen from one corner to the other. but yeah go for it!
 
i made a faction/clan/gang/whatever you want to call it named the B.H.R. (Blood Red Hoods) i'm still trying to improve on the name but basically it's a squad of different red riding hoods. i was hoping to start a SC4/5 clan with this as well. i have made one B.R.H. for every fighting style i use so i have 13 of them in all. i have to go somewhere in like ten minutes from now so i'll post some pics later of them. but yeah if anyone you know or you want in to let the force be strong with the Hoods on xbox live then let me know. ps3 is fine too but i won't be in contact cause i has the 360. :) the costumes are easy to put together so long as they have a hood and the colors being red, black, and white with red being the primary color.

Shoulders=gorgon spaulders (first color=blue, second color=white)
Undergarments=chainmail(all white)
Upper body=gorgon curiass (first color=white, second color=blue)
Arms=gorgon gauntlets(first color=blue, second color=white)
Lower body=gorgon flaud (first color=white, second color=blue)
Ankles=bandages (any color works, you wont see them, it is just for a stat increase in defense)
Feet=gorgon greaves (first color=white, second color=blue)
Physique=0
Muscularity=25
Voice=3, pitch 0
Face=4
Hair=swing(light blonde)
Eyebrows=(dark yellow)
Eyes=(bright blue)
Skin=(very pale)
Underwear color=(doesn't matter)
Weapon=requiem
Skills=alignment

I apologize for her pretty much just being knight 3 and for not having exact colors. I will post 2p costume at another time. Thanks for taking the time/caring to read this. Also, you could try using Hilde instead of Siegfried for this character. Lastly, I just want to let you know she does have a name, i just don't know it yet XD
