Hey everyone! I'm, uh, Misty?

I'm not a huge Soul Calibur fan. I'm a pretty big noob to it, to be honest. When I was young I would play SCII on an arcade machine, then got it for my PS2; I recently bought a PS3 and have started playing SCIV. I'm pretty terrible at it but I really enjoy playing online, haha.

I love video games; my other favorites are Kingdom Hearts and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I like strange music and Jane Austen.

So uh, welcome me? xD

Pocky Yoshi says hello and is pleased to meet you.........define strange music. Like what music do you listen to or so?

Salute, welcome to 8WR. I myself joined just recently. Hopefully you'll enjoy your time on here. And don't worry. Strangeness is equivalent to greatness in my opinion. And Knights of old republic and KH? Malto Bene! Fantastic games!

Hi and Welcome!
Strange is good.
What are your favorite SC characters?
I typically play as Kilik, Amy, and Maxi. When playing with my friends though I skip around a bit, just so that things don't get boring. =]

Oh, a whole lot, haha. Right now I'm into Balam Acab's album Wander / Wonder, which is kind of a psychedelic electronic dubstep ambient type deal. My most listened to bands are Los Campesinos!, Xiu Xiu, Animal Collective, Johnny Foreigner, Math the Band, Emancipator, Defiance, Ohio, Lullatone, Slow Club, Bright Eyes, Parenthetical Girls, Emmy the Great, Matt & Kim, Owen Pallett/Final Fantasy... to name a few.

I agree!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

WOW.

welcome to the community! I am assuming you like synth and classical music, clasical music with a little alternative?

John Rueben, The Fray, Blue October, Skillet, showbread, and i guess Downhere could be some examples?

Anyway i hope you have a nice experience in this community. If you love classical music your going to love the SC music especially SCV.

Do you play an instrument? you heard of any famous pieces, played them?

EDIT: I also am a fan of the KH and FF series. Yoko shimomura (not sure if spelt right) is an excellent person for music.

You know who's a really awesome composer? Nobuo Uematsu. He wrote some of the better known songs in Final Fantasy. Optymuss is right though. Soul Calibur is a great place for orchestral pieces. Although what I love is when orchestral music is mixed with rock sounding music. I play drums so it's really awesome when you hear like the new version of One Winged Angel and the drum solo starts. That's awesome lol.

I agree. Yoko Shimomura is an awesome composer but so is Nobuo Uematsu. I loved his work on Chocobo Racing, awesome soundtrack. :)

I don't know any of those artists lol. But, I have no problem with electronic dubstep if that's what they all come from.

Back on point, I'll leave it to the mods or someone else to guide you where you need to be. Have fun browsing 8wayrun.

The only band from there I've really listened to is Blue October--I jump around a lot, genre wise!

Definitely! One of my favorite songs from Kingdom Hearts (Showdown at Hollow Bastion) was, if memory serves, composed by him. And To Zanarkand from Final Fantasy X is absolutely heartbreaking. Yoko Shimomura is amazing as well.
Welcome to 8WR! Where do you live? :)
I'm from New York (which is in the US, dunno if you guys have a lot of international folk around here).

Nah, I'm not into dubstep really. A bit too many high pitched squeaks for me. c:

I'm also a Kingdom Hearts fan! Also welcome to the forums, I'm still pretty new myself haha.

To Zanakand is a great song, but I gotta say one of my favorite songs from FF is the price of freedom. That song is awesome.

Well don't you sound cool? Mass effect much? SW:TOR?

You have to join me and Page in the Super White Indie Bands thread. It's basically just me and him sitting in a quiet room while a clock ticks going: "Ah excellent choice sir!". The clock ticks some more. One of us sips some tea. A ball on the floor is wordlessly rolled from one end of the room to another. Then one of us goes: "I know, have you heard this?" to which to other replies "I say, excellent choice sir!". Repeat ad infinitum.

If you like Matt and Kim, you may enjoy the work of YACHT. No guarantees.

Oh by the way. As a mod I'm supposed to direct ya to anything you might want or need. I apologize though, all the food is already gone. I think there's still some spinach dip. That said if you need to find something, or suddenly decide you're going to be the ultimate tournament pro and want to know where to do that feel free to ask. Otherwise enjoy your stay on the boards.
