BJWanlund
[08] Mercenary
Hey guys, my name is BJ Wanlund, and I'm coming to 8WR to learn as much as I can about Soul Calibur and SCV, especially given I'll need to have my main (Ivy) up to speed as fast as possible, because of the possibility I might be able to go to Final Round in Atlanta at the beginning of March.
So, here's some background on myself: I tend to play a ton of different fighting games, and that's most of what I play, LOL. I'd first seen Soul Calibur II for GameCube in a FunCoLand a number of years back. I didn't buy it at that point, and then I largely forgot about SC.
That is, until I came here to Western Carolina University in the fall of 2009 and found not only BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, the fighter that singlehandedly revived my fighting game addiction, but also a surprisingly robust Soul Calibur IV community.
My group of IRL friends and I have played SCIV off and on, more so since the announcement of SCV. I've actually (ironically) only picked up Ivy recently, because of a Twitter conversation I had with the Namco Bandai Community Manager, FilthieRich, who told me that Ivy (!!) was a character I could start to pick up in SCV.
So, being ever so slightly crazy, and enjoying playing female characters in fighting games, I picked up Ivy in SCIV a couple of weeks ago, and am totally enjoying having a character with range in Soul Calibur, a game where having a character with range is the way to go.
So, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Can't wait to keep abreast of all the crazy stuff that is about to go down in about a week's time!
