Character Creation

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone else noticed that when you adjust the tone/pitch of the character voices it distorts pretty badly, even after adjusting the slider by a small value. Sounds all robotic. Especially if you move it to minus numbers. And that's with the Malfesation slider set to none/normal. I don't remember SCIV having this problem?

Also, did you notice how there are a lot of items of clothing (belts and capes more so than others) that appear to just float over your character's body? I've not found a way to adjust the position of these things anywhere, only the bottom three accessories appear to be moved and resized.

Really disappointed with Character Creation this time around. :(

Character creation is an improvement from SCIV but it does have its unfortunate flaws. I agree the voice pitch altering has become somewhat robotic :T but at least the voices are good :3 Overall I am pretty happy with it but I agree with your two points up there. Voice pitch editing could have been better and same goes for fitting items to characters.
Item fitting can be defended easily though as in this game they implemented the new adjustable body slides so naturally a new feature like this would have some set backs such as clothes not fitting. Myon's clothes make her look more pudgy than she really is, or rather her armor does... but it does not really bug me as I never notice it a whole lot when in a battle ^ ^. Don't worry, I am sure they will fix these minor issues when SCVI comes along~

I do like the new editor mostly, but I am also disappointed by the floating clothes. It makes characters look too bulky sometimes. While there are new good features, there are also some noticeable flaws. It just would be nice if we could get a editor that improves upon it's predecessor without taking some steps back.

The clothing thing has been a problem in just about every game that has some decent level of body customization. Comes with the territory, I'm afraid.

It takes a LOT of work to get morphs made for every item with every combination of possible sliders. I don't really expect them to do it. Even Champions Online doesn't quite get it right half the time.

It's perfect if you want to make a Nyan Cat character with the KittyMeow stuff. Just put the sliders to max and you won't make out what it's saying, just squeaks.

Agreed on both accounts. With the voices, they had them right the first time in SCIV. Why the hell would they tweak with it if it was already fine?

And the clothing thing pisses me off to no end. You're really restricted as to what parts you can put together for fear of all the crap glitching through everything. Looks fricking horrible. This was an issue in IV, but it's even worse in this game.

I like it when i go online and play against custom characters that arent even dressed. At least make the effort ffs, or pick the original base character.

Hmm, at first I had this problem, however I noticed that I put the Malfested modifier to "Light"
That modifier definitely makes them sound robotic, but after I took that off I haven't had that problem.

I want to create a character with parched voice. You know like somebody who has a cold. I am not able to find a solution this far, any ideas?

Thats because they used timestretching instead of pitching/pitch shifting. I have no idea why they did that, its just awful.

I'll also point out that a combination of parts to create a maid-like character no longer works. In SCIV, you could have a particular dress with an apron over it which looked rather authentic. In SCV however, this combination no longer works - If you want the apron, certain (all?) skirts must be removed. Really stupid.
