Natsu Videos Thread

@Ibuki-lord: AAB everywhere I see, and random kicks as well. One thing that you could work on is actual legit combos working from counter-hit. Stuff like 22K into 6A+B4, etc etc. Also I prefer just using AAB as an interrupt, not as an actual offense. And note that AAB can be punished easier than just AA. Sometimes I do AA, then do one A/B to delay their attack then go for a WR K or 22K to lead into a 100 damage combo. Also 66B works wonders for me, it dodges high attacks and does a beefy 60 damage on CH. And it hits crouchers, so mixing it with 4A+B6 > air grab combos worked for me. And work some fast CH combos like 4B. It comes out quick and on normal hit can be followed with 1A or 4A+B6 PO mixup. Nice use of CE, I think the rest is just technical and comes with time played.

@Animu-man: The first two CH combos in the video, you shortened unnecessarily when you could've done more damage. After the PO A:6 you went into FC A+B when you could've tacked on 3KKK. And the Hover B combo in the first round, you followed it with 2A+B then used meter on 66B when he could've died without meter. You probably already know it though from watching it and I'm just being too critical. Great execution with the PO A:6, the only thing I can take from that video is using more mixup to keep your opponent offguard and from being able to predict your moves. It's one of my weaknesses too. Maybe throw out a few grabs to keep him on the defense, then put in a 66B to punish the crouch? And I think using A+B to start a round is a bad idea unless you know your opponent is going to rush in, otherwise it's easily punished.

@FrostHeart

it depends... some days the best time is at night after my preggers girlfriend goes to be bed. Then I play for a little bit. But like today and tomorrow I can play til like 1 in the pm then i play later at night =/ starting feb 16th thru the 22 i'll be on vacation and plan on playing alot =)

yea man good matches.. I seem to freeze a lot on you, I tend to try and play more safe and I fuck up lots. lol. still you definitely out skilled me for sure.

Funny thing , I played the #1 ranked player in the "world" online today. A2 rank NATSU player... GRU_Kommder, I think was his name. VERY odd Natsu. ... I guess he is good I'm not sure, but if you get a chance play him, he 100% relies on A+B which is pretty damn safe then if it connects and you try and ukuemi it's a guaranteed 2A+ B into an air grab... I ate that shit up for some reason, kinda mad I let him beat me cause that was all he did.... literally. I figured out what he was doing by round 4 but it was too late to adapt , you have to eat the 2A+B without ukuemi'n off the ground then roll back.

And last but not least had a great match with someone from NVGAonline.com today. Nice Leixia.

Lol nice way to win it. Not one of your A:6 days huh. I realized that he keeps getting hit by the K in BBK, then again, so do I sometimes.

A+B = whiff killer. I like using it but I don't think I'm A+Bing the right way. hmm I can understand the ukemi after A+B, people don't want to eat the FC A+B and then eat the tech trap instead. Which is why I like PO 8A UB bomb or 6A+B UB. I'm starting to get a little disenchanted with 6A+B4 as a neutral move, it's free punishable on block unless you PO A+B+K out.

Oh, and I ran into that asty in your vids while during rank rofllll

Jimmy sent me to losers, this is the first part of grand finals where i beat him. I did not do so well in the second set.

very, very professional, at 2:57 instead of continuing the combo, did you pause because you were expecting crybaby before dropping the UB bomb? That was pretty sweet!

@Boogieman here's my fight against Calatravian the asty. I keep forgetting to jump/low block what used to be 2[B+K]. Would have blocked 1A+B/B+K (forgot which is the correct input) if not for lag.

Day 1.5ish Natsu...

Feedback, please. Still trying to commit a lot of Natsu's tools to memory, so I stuck with a super small list of moves.

@Frostheart Good vid man. Both guys go hard in the paint!

I decided to try something new with these videos in this section. I just so happened to run into this one player (SwordofDios) 3 times in a row during Rank Matches so I put all 3 matches into 1 video. I think it is safe to say we hate each other with a passion lol. Watch the vid and enjoy.

p.s. he's a solid Patroklos player imo. So props to him and big thanks for making online extremely fun this morning!

@SWBeta: Those missed WR CH K combos would really have helped your pressure and PO mixups. Those were the first combos I worked on because just how vital and damaging it is. I think I spent a few hours just doing 6A+B4 PO A:6 to get the Just Frame down. We've found out that the combo 2A+B> B+K> B+G does less damage than 2 other variants. Such as 2A+B > PO 8B+G or A+B > 1A. Later @2:45 you sidestepped but oddly waited for his attack to end. Doing a sidestep 22K or 88K would have given you a CH combo with 6A+B4. Nice play all around. Rely less on 2A to stop attacks to mix it up, or the attacks following it. Such as WR AAA instead of WR K; it might've caught him off guard and knocked him down.

Oh so it's all your fault that he jumps bombs and doesn't tech into UB against me :P . Lost first before winning. Why do you guys keep kicking each other after the round ends??

Shoot, in match 2, round 1, you had a free ringout when you 2A+B'd him at the edge. A lot of times you missed follow-ups to 2A+B.

Why U no airthrow? or at least A+B, 1A.

Also, I noticed he always rolled when you had him down and ate about a dozen grounded 2A+B's. If you would have just waited a few frames, you'd have caught him in the tech trap.

Is it possible to break that stupid knee to the face throw he does, or do all the hits come out?

LOL at the BE throw RO.

@UnseenWombat: It's a B break, but once the knees start connecting, all hits will connect granted the Patroklos player is mashing accordingly (it's one of those odd mash throws). His throws are aggravating because you always end up so close to him and the startup for both A and B throws look the same (to me). He pulls you in and bends you forward both times (hilt to gut for A+G and hilt to back of neck for B+G). I prefer breaking B against Pat players solely because of the damage the command throw does.

@SWBeta: That's very solid gameplay for just a day and a half of playing. Aside from the obvious execution practice that one can never have enough of (I have a feeling at least one 2A+B was accidental), there are some things I do suggest you take into account (more nitpicks than anything since you're already solid anyway).
If you don't really need the TC properties of 2A, I suggest using 3K instead. It's an actual mid and gives you more options on hit. Try to deliberately hitcheck WS K, it's not great on block and you have a lot of time to confirm if you connected on CH or not. Same with 2A... It's amazing on hit, but you relinquish momentum if it's blocked.

here is another video of me vs a Patroklos player. This time from 8wayrun, big thanks to DrakeAIdian for the casuals

@boogie Nice fight. It looks like Drake is training of sorts, he only really uses a few moves for mindgames and then tries to block/punish your options. I realize that he crouches the K in BBK and jumps all your UBs, which you actually use a lot haha. At the very start of the vid he auto-GIs and you dropped hp without getting hit... is that normal??

Few more videos against 80%+ win guys:

vs Ivy
vs Asty
vs Omega

Not happy against Omega. I'm eating too much stuff I shouldn't in the first couple of rounds. It's just stupid to whiff against her. I keep telling myself to not be so trigger happy and to bait and punish whiff instead but instead *I* am whiffing and getting punished. I guess this is the difference between competitive level and being a scrub. D: Any comments on improvement?

Oh yes, please do not 6A+B4 on block or it's a free BB punish. And try to hitcheck 3KK before going into WR.

@FrostHeart vs Omega , I thought you did good against them. I think the only advice if any, would say watch lows and stop giving them free shit =P But other than that you rung their bell lolol. Love that Perfect at the end. Best way to end that shit with anyone!

p.s. after watching all these Natsu videos I have to admit. In the right hands, she is an absolute monster to deal with. Frost, so far, you've got to be one of my favorite players to watch.
