Dampierre and Co's CaS Tips and Tricks Compendium Curio~!

Thanks for stealing my post >.>

It works better with less rounded objects, especially the cube. I tested it a bit and although there are some weird things that occur with other items it's only really noticeable on a flat surface. Non-flat surfaces don't work as well due to the polygons not lining up so similarly.

Oh, and it works nicely with the 'flame" helmet ornament dealie. Make them red, orange, and yellow and it'll almost pass for extremely jittery flame animation.

...So you reworded my posts indepdently. Nice. Nice. Baffling.
Please please, no animosity, friend! I simply stumbled upon this thread late at night(west coast reppin), and thought id post somethings i found out last week. I really wasnt trying to steal anything. I havent even looked through the postings of others. I will next time avoid such conflicts. I apologize for the dilemma and hope that you may forgive me.

Throw in a couple cookies and 4.3 intrawebz and I'll consider maybe, *POSSIBLY* forgiving you. I'm not making any promises though.

Hello, I signed up on this admirable forum because you all seem quite competent and I would need some advices. It seems impossible to me to put stickers on the ashigaru's flag or on the face of the mummy underwear, yet some members managed to do it on their creations. Do you know what I have missed ?
And sorry if my english is not perfect, it's because I'm french.

Well I will refer you to my thread (listed in my signature below) for a few visuals (refer to D. Soldier and G. Soldier). Now what you want is akin to those two creations, correct? Have you tried using Square+D-pad (for PS3) or X+D-pad (for 360) to move the stickers in the direction you want?

The objects stickers sometimes are out of "visibility" on the object and cannot be seen from the angle you are at. You can move them onto the object at that angle you want by moving them with the button combinations listed above. Keep doing this and then you should see it move onto the flag (or you release the buttons and it may appear). Do it little by little to see if it will slowly move into visibility.

Alternatively, if you place the sticker by angle instead of by view, move it horizontally and vertically on the flag until you get it right. Those are the only ways I know of getting them on there for you.

Had you noticed that if you make the two colors of the tiger pattern the same, it gives to the color you chose a slightly dirty and worn effect, wich works indiferently on tissue, leather and steel ? I use it a lot it's very usefull when colors seem too bright.

I haven't read ALL pages to this yet, but from what I Have read, there's two I'd like to add in, and deepest apologies if they already are in.

Fishnet Stockings:
Fishnet stockings, this is pretty easy and I figured this out when making a perfect version of myself.
Select the desired socks or undergarment stockings. I chose Thigh Highs.
Use the pattern Basic 13, and bring the size almost all the way to the minimal, but not ALL the way, just almost. :3
Depending on what type of hosiery you prefer in fishnet stockings, there are two different ways to do this.
First, choose the desired color of the stockings, I did black (0:0.31).
Then color the dots in the pattern similar to what your character's skin color is.
My character's color is 2:7.2 and the colored dots in the Basic 13 were 4:8.7, so you will have to mess around the colors till you find a good one.
If you don't want that many holes, you can always color one of the polka dot colors to the same color as the stockings, to make it not so insanely fishnetty.

Layering panties on top of stockings:
The second trick is the ol' panties-on-top-of-stockings style you often see on female super heroes.
The only problem with this trick is that most of your makeup wont show.
So first choose the underwear you wish to use, and then a color of the stockings.
Now for the color of the stockings, what you want to do is color the character's entire skin with what you want your stockings to be.
Then simply grab some stickers, choose a skin color through the sticker, and place that on all body parts that don't need the stockings, and there you go.
If anyone know how to avoid losing makeup through this, let me know.

Ooooooh. I shall have to try these out! Thank you very much deary~

Not sure if Mentioned yet but as for sticker use:

Scars can be placed on Helmets / Armor to look like dents/gashes.

The sticker "Motif 75" can be placed just right on a Magician's Mask, to make the nose, lips and eye sort of "pop" to make it look more like armor, or robotic depending on color's used (Or bronze/brown steel for a steampunk mask).

Ok, i won't add to the thousands tips about textures etc, let me dissert on special equipement and sticker use.

Some horns can be used to do some nice snake tongue effects, use leather pattern for a snake tongue, or just no pattern at all :

Using balls and pattern 1 or honey comb or grid (minimized) can help, coupled with alien head, to produce a wide variety of crawling things :

Using apple with carefully positioned and coloured pattern 1 can be used to do a snake eye (see pic of snake girl above, behind the metal mask)

Skeleton tuto :

The skeleton can be used in a variety of ways...
and the trick to make the skeleton alive is to use an eye bandage and a variety of stickers (rotated / painted black eye sticker for aliens, dragon n°2 sticker (flipped) for demonic eyes, and of course pure ring glowing eyeballs or snake necklace).
And skeletons don't have to be meager and all, just use pieces of equipment covering the skely, and make sure to change body proportions, it will show on the equipement, like it had muscle (see my Diablo below)

It took quite a while to repost the pics, so i hope you get something out of it...
Have fun (re)creating if you'd like

I have to say, this thread is very enlightening. I didn't know you could do stuff like this. The most that I did that I guess you could count as a "trick", was to take the pocket sticker and place it on the back flap of the Wonder Jacket and change it to the same color. Then you just make it a big as possible, turn it upside down, and you have something that I thought was cool, and is currently in use on my female french-african knight.

But yeah, the stuff in this guide has made me some pretty cool CaS's, and I have all you to thank for that.
