Greetings and salutations, everyone! Good to be signed up here. If you'd like, you may call me "Unknown", "Drive", or "UKD" for short.
To start off, I'm an avid fighting game fan who has partially dived into the competitive side of the genre. I have been playing since I was very young, with my earliest recalled memory with FGs being with Tekken. As such, I've been playing fighting games consistently since, with Tekken and Soul Calibur being the leading games. I'm not exactly a veteran gameplay-wise, however. Most of my experiences with fighting games have been casual and scrubby, and I've only started delving into the competitive complexities since last year.
So with that said, I have been around the Soul Calibur series since its second iteration, namely the PS2 version. With its excellent gameplay flow, unique weapon combat, likable characters and fascinating combination of the historical and fantastical, I became hooked and followed the series ever since. While SCII was my introduction to the series, SCIII was the game that secured my place as a fan. To this day, SCIII is still held close to my heart as my favorite iteration of the franchise, and I have a copy at home I recently bought for that very reason.
As for the games I missed out on, Soul Blade (or Soul Edge, if you prefer that) and Soul Calibur 1, I was able to digitally download SC1 a while back to experience it, but I've still yet to play Soul Blade.
I have many characters I like in the series, but my current mains as of now are Mitsurugi as my first and Viola as my second. Before that, I started with Siegmare for SCII. Later I used both Siegfried and Nightmare, then dropped them both for Taki in SCIII. I ran with Taki a bit more for SCIV, but then ultimately decided on Mitsurugi in the end. Needless to say, I've been around.
So with all that established, I'm here on 8WR to meet some new players to match with and learn more about my two mains, with the goal being to enhance my skill with them. So far, my Mitsu is just average while my Viola is extremely underdeveloped, so I hope to change that at least somewhat being here. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'll stick around for reasons other than that, but hey, things might change depending on how things go.
For the time being, it's great to be here and meet you all, and I hope to have a good time here. And in case that intro was too much:
