CAS weapons.

If they did release them. Would you pay for new weapons?

Ok I do not understand game programming. So if this is like halo 3 were new armor couldnt be introduced because of the way the game was designed, please no hate. Anyways. Considering all of the new stuff that project soul is bringing with DLC, couldnt they also add weapons. Personally, im looking forward to when they rerelease nightmare agony helm. But to complete my old CAS character, I need Gram. That beautifully kick ass sword that has been apart of Siegfrieds weapons since SC2. Or Nightmares giant buster. They have the room, and so far it seems that they have the means. Response.
 
And im annoyed that I hadnt even thought of this untill after I posted, but thew could be new weapons as well. Oh so I didnt reconize the weapons you named, so I looked it up. What the hell those are sick. Why didnt they comeback. Lethe being the one I would use.
 
Well, I can't say simply "Yes" or "No" because it depends on the number of weapons that would contain each pack, the weapons and of course, the price, I would not buy a pack of 5-6 weapons for 2€, but a pack of weapons for all characters at 1'5 or so...may be, depending of the weapons.

Shiba needs a motherfucking spear, Aeon morning stars and scythes (think Aeon with scythes would make a great ninja CAS), Asty a scythe and a war hammer, Cervantes dual Katana and pirate cutlass, Lexia an Iron fang, Siegfried a maze (Paladin here we go), a Katana and mace for Nightmare and a more barbaric/rusty sword for mitsurugi.

I don't have a fetish for mazes and Katanas, is just it would provide lot of options for doing classic characters like samurais, ninjas or knights. Right now for example if you want a samurai you only have three options, Mitsu, Sieg and Yot (that doesn't work except for excentric chars).
 
The only issue i see is their method of dealing with missing compatibility packs. You cant just remove a weapon, so theyd have to do a small patch to the game, id wager, to tell it to revert to weapon 1, the P1 weapon. (although, the None option is in the first slot anyway, so maybe it would work regardless.)

One further issue would be that weapon trails/effects revert when you change weapon and that may be for a good reason. so changing somebodies weapon would have to effect another variable and that could cause issues.

Seems easily overcome either way.
 
The first point that you brought up is very good. I hadnt even thought about that. And while that is something that can be fixed. It only could be if the game was designed to do such a thing beforehand. If they hadn't even thought of doing weapons before the game release then we may be screwed there. However, i am confused by the second point. The trails and effects dont change with the weapons. For example, Siegfrieds 1p weapon has the same hit box as his greatsword(the katana), the center of the blade. Any group of weapons will have the same will have a hit box(and by extention, trail origin) that is as long as the longest weapon they can use and as thin is the thinist. This ensures that variables in match wont change because of the weapon you use.

You make very good points. But I have only one thing to ask. What the hell is a maze? Do you mean mace? Anyways, those are very good ideas. Different weapon types would be pretty sweet. As for what you said about your "Yes or No" Im new and didnt know how to add a third option that would of said "Depends" so sorry bout that.

Weapon packs that include a weapon for every style, save for Algol, Ezio, and Devil Jin(yes Dampierre deserves more weapons too). Soul Edge, Soul Calibur, Embrace of Souls, moar joke weapons, themed weapon packs(e.g. "samurai" weapon pack, "viking" weapon pack, and so on). DO IT, BAMCO! And don't charge us out the ass for it :(

Each weapon is over nine-thousand dollars.

But, I'm sure this goes in either the Future CaS DLC thread, or the Cepheus Store one.

You must know how weird things like that can be...

I dont know just what the patches can achieve, and i have seen a few examples of them changing a game rather drastically... but things like what i described there can cause some really weird glitches, especially if they werent prepared for originally. As a keen modder, ive learnt to be wary of such things...

Well, when you don't have a compatibility patch, the game just doesn't load the items. If a player has received too many negative votes for their CaS, all their CaS appear as the generic starting model, with 1P weapon and nothing equipped, so having it default from DLC weapon to 1P weapon wouldn't even remotely be a problem.

That, or they could do what most games do, and stop you playing online til you get the patch, but I doubt that'll be the case.
