Dominating the tourney scene will make algol banning clearer?...

In that case, lets ban Cass. She's dominating the scene right now.

remember what we said about spammers? If it's in the game, you can use it everything and anything goes, DEAL WITH IT.

Precisely the reason Algol gets the axe. It's never been the intent of Soul Calibur to support a fireball-friendly character with a time limit. As I previously stated, however, if you remove the time limit from tournament games I have absolutely no reason to think Algol is broken AT ALL. The only reason I think you might ban and the reason that I voted for the ban is that I believe your tournament formats are all timed and therefore Algol's intensely gay combo that DOES NO DAMAGE could STALL long enough to win a match. It's the fact that you're buying yourself advantage by spamming stupid #$&% that makes Algol not suitable for Soul Calibur. I think they really did F up this guy...now if a parried bubble went super-speed at Algol and smacked him for insane damage that would be an AWESOME balance change and I'd immediately change my vote.

Well for one thing, how many people have u played/ met that can do that combo on a REGULAR basis. As in do it once per match without any problems/ slips.

See I think the time limit can hurt Algol as much as it can help him. He's slow up close, and has to rely on unsafe tech crouching moves like 1b to get people off his ass. So if someone can damage him early and turtle, running around bubbles, he'll have a hard time dealing damage. His only damaging low is 11a, slow and unsafe.

I don't see any reason to ban him, he's not the best in the game by a longshot.

I may not get many of the finer points of the game, but I don't think Algol is THAT slow. i14 AA i16 BB(faster than say Mitsurugi's) and a set of i15 kicks that hit both low and mid plus the quick 2A.

I'm not saying he should or shouldn't be banned, but he can get a hit in first against most people with normal advantage or run away if they block.

Anyways who would spend time in a TOURNY to shoot enough bubbles to block the screen. If you were in a tournament and he tried to block the screen with bubbles i think you should be good enough to counter it by hitting him or some other way.

This is like your 3rd post in this thread where you make everything sound "so easy" to overcome. Have you ever even competed in a real tournament at all?

Beyond fixing the time-wasting infinite and screen blocking, I don't see any issue with Algol. It might help, though, if his bubbles had a limited range.

Ok here is my solution, ban bubbles not Algol. Since this thread is basically about his bubbles and NOT the character himself just ban the bubbles.

I have to say Im totally for banning Algol and his stupid ass bubbles.

Banning moves is stupid. Its up to Namco to patch this crap and somehow curb the bubble madness. Like make only two available on screen at once, increase the recovery for them, and make them friggin disappear when he gets hit. Something like that would fix the issue.

Bottom line, he's a boss class character (a lame one at that), he just isn't for the Vs aspect of the game.

Either that or he comes up with a super ultimate infinite, i mean he has the potential. But remember what we said about spammers? If it's in the game, you can use it everything and anything goes, DEAL WITH IT.

Just reading that made me wanna shoot you. that stupid ass logic was the same thing about VC in SC3. People that wanted it in the game because it added "depth" to the game. Funny how only certain characters had the ability to do VC (xcept for BT Throw+VC)

I personally don't care what happens to the bastard(im calling algol a bastard). But we need to make a desicion sometime soon. Like NOW. We've been at this for 3 months. And yet in still we don't have some sort of solid conclusion. Draw up a deadline date between both forums (since i can't view the forums) and set up a decision. We got nationals coming up within a few months and STILL cant make a fucking decision on a particular characters.

Also, i love the idea "let's half-ass the ban" What kind of weed are you smoking because i sure would love to like some of that. You don't just ban one move. That's just like saying i'm playing Amy and 3B,A rapes people so i'm banned from doing the Full string. Hell i got a better idea, Let's ban ALL Strings (except for AA and BB!!!)

Come on....make a desicion, and let's move on.

Well hasn't there been a thread on banning him? I don't see why this is taking place here and not there but whatever. I personally say let people play him, but if they do things like that then DQ the person playing as him.

but do you see where i'm coming from? some of the things that you said just made me like "WTF??" anywho...back to my orginal statement.

Make a poll, put a decision date and let's move on.

Yeah i see what you mean, when i wrote banning that move I have no clue what i was thinking O.o" Ok if this is about banning him in Tourneys then BAN him anything else is fine in my opinion and that combo is for shits n giggles.

ban VCs NOW!!!!!

and...uh...cassy is soooo not dominating the tournament scene by any means. its just that some of the top players are-and always have been-cassy players.

I'm curious as to how Bamco is going to react to this. Hopefully they'll fix the crap that needs fixing soon instead of releasing a knee-jerk patch that gimps Algol to hell (And before anyone asks, no, I don't use Algol). Irregardless, it's pretty apparent that the bubbles are what piss people off, so they're either going to gimp the bubbles (And thus, Algol), sit back and let him get banned (Despite the fact that they could patch him), or remove them and remake Algol (Which isn't bloody likely, IMHO).

How about a little more range and damage for TAKI? most characters have more damage and longer range then her (i dont count jumping forward and striking or anything like that as long range) Maybe give her a 4rth wep that can dominate everything? :P
