Iron CAS

Here's my entry for the mummified contest:

Toy Ninja:
iTdCkaR2Xsd14.png

He's a wind up toy ninja that you'd find at a dollar store. I tried to keep his design simple and cartoony, focusing mostly on his metal joints, and metal armor. Most of the detail went into showing he was made of cheap materials, such as the green paint chipping off, and the crappy fabric.
The wind-up key on his back would have turned out much better if you could use more than one ankle bracelet. >_<

Here's a pic of the equipment to show I used Mummified:

Review time!

Mistakoo 5
DJdoubleB 1
Fliptop 4

Mistakoo wins just by one vote.

The poor close call.....because there wasn't many entrants as I thought this time.
DJdoubleB - What really sucks is there wasn' t enough pics for me to see all of Angelo, Philosopher, and Ruin. Angelo was indeed a strong one. Maybe another tweak or two on the color, but that's a minor suggestion. Philosopher and Ruin however weren't as strong as Angelo, but trial and error makes anyone stronger. Hopefully, Pocky Yoshi will get to see thine skills again yes?

The odd choice award goes to.....
Fliptop
For an item I loathed, it actually turned out to be quite useful. I'd normally pick the Slit Skirt over it because it had a better fit but now I'll think twice. I'll put all three here and edit the earlier post, Loyd's been tweaked.

TIP: Put a sticker on the item and move it up to the belt portion. Now when you go to move it sideways, it will be mirrored. Take a look at Ballard's belt to see what I mean (Place By View gives better results than Axis). As far as I can tell this works for all three versions of the item.

Cheers!

Why?
Loyd was a charming lizardman......until Aeon came along and ate him up. The tail can't fool a real Lizardman. Joking aside, it was tons captivating and derpy fun. The colors and patterns and all make it work and I feel you snuck a special equipment on his knees, but I could be wrong.

Sasha was the weaker one of the three, but the fish, blue wave patterns and all still make it work for her theme.

Ballard has got to my favorite as it looks very natural. To give you and idea on how much I like it, I'd like to steal it for my own idea or just steal it altogether. The beard, the waist belt with those Special ornaments, the colors, those special equipment on the shoulder to match the greaves. In general, it's a favorite of Pocky Yoshi because it's simple yet elegant. This one imho is the strongest one of the three.

For DJdoubleB.....

Why? Because, Pocky Yoshi felt like thou got the short end of the stick. Hope to see thine skills in the next contest.

Anyways, time to set the timeframe: Contest starts today and ends on August 23rd. On the 23rd, people can vote until August 25th. Get to it 8wayrunners.

I'm Lemander Shebello, and this is my favourite contest on the Citadel.

I'm excited to see what crops up here, every single time, and gutted I missed so much of it. But now I'm back I'll be watching with much fervour and gusto, so keep your awesome designs rolling in. Already I've seen some that're vying for my vote. Too tough! =/

Maybe I'm alone in this opinion, but I'm thinking it might be easier for people to enter when they know what the ingredient required actually is.

CHAOS! BEDLAM! ANARCHY! Fuma Kotaro must've been here.

It's the mummified undergarment. There are already entries on the previous page.

The great contest creator and overlord Pocky-Yoshi announced it earlier on, but you may have a point, could be worth reminding people of the ingredient when the winner is announced.
Maybe saying "contest starts today" was misleading as we've already started submitting :P

This is why I only announce the theme on the day, and discount any votes prior to voting period. It's also why non-entry pictures are absolutely barred.

People are easily confused, so I generally try to be a little patronising, but in a way that's meant to be informative rather than insulting.

...It is odd that I post this one first....
The other 2 I am working on are not finished yet, but they both use the bandages as filthy rags... they are kinda dark... kinda creepy... and I could have kept going in that direction ... it seems to be what I really like ...BUT... instead I tried to break away from that direction with this:

That would ruin the fun of how the guy announces the secret hidden ingredient. Hence why it's called Iron CAS, a parody of the show Iron Chef. I was late announcing the ingredient and all; because I had a irritable research paper to do. Luckily I finished it except I felt I rushed it due to procrastination.

Here are all my entries:

- For this contest, I wanted to focus my characters' designs on bird-themes (like Siegfried and Tira). Vision has a Bluebird-theme, Relic has an Owl-theme, and Elder Pheonix... well, you can guess that one.
-srry about the poor quality for Elder Pheonix's picture, just couldn't take a good one for some reason.

It is getting harder and harder to vote on these things...Everyone has refined what they do ... so it comes down to a slight personal bias.

I vote MistaKoo ... Subject 42 ... the bandages seem extra important next to the clean suit. ...and I have a soft spot for 50's and 60's lab accident horror... this kind of reminds me of invisible man or the fly ... or something...
:)

I was in the process of making yet another entry (resembled some sort of strange Japanese mecha thing) but unfortunately I was too busy to complete it before the deadline.

Anyhoo, I'm voting for Chobek for the Scarecrow. My favourite CaS are ones that have elements of horror but are still kind of endearing. The slanty eyes are a wonderful touch, they make him look upset/lonely, and it could just be my imagination but the sticker on his head gives the illusion of a sad face.

I was tempted by FreeMeal's ninja because of its uniqueness and the wind-up key at the back. Also tempted by Mistakoo's Subject 42 (though I'm not sure about that strand of hair, I didn't realise what it was meant to be until you said). And DJdoubleB's entries were cool, but I couldn't see the mummified equipment in any of them.
