It's ironic because he talks about the 1P modes but with bad music the entire game would be boring(including gimmicky 1P modes) unless you had to use your own custom music. It would ruin the game for some people just because they had to do that. Lol
Because finding music for a game like this is SO hard isnt it, that you still havent realized that music is subjective and doesn't matter with the option to play custom songs. I dont care what songs are in the game considering how easy it is to make it up. Im sure you can seach on you own "medieval battle music" and find it, even from other games. It doesn't matter what they do, I'm fine being surprised.

I know he's talked about the game's atmosphere previously. The music has an effect on that just as much as the chosen color palette.
Music is easy to sync with the atmopshere, you already know what time peroid its in so just seearch that stuff up and boom. Creating that matching atmosphere having to recreate and reinvision that atmosphere is the difficult and time consuming process as they have to redesign and rewrite everything to fit a consistant theme that the original games had..
I knew there was some hypocrisy going on, but I didn't think to realize it.
because there isnt any. Music isnt the atmophere, it just emphasizes the mood and holds aesthetic picture together.

I love when you guys argue lol.

Do you guys think that there will be a soul calibur 6?
I know I answered you in another thread, but I need to kill time.

No, unless...

- Namco gives PS the budget and time that they need.

- Namco stops trying to compete w/ other games which can screw up PS's time frame to finish the game. (I know that video games compete, but meh).

- The players constantly communicate w/ PS so they can know what we want/need.

- Players show interest in another SC.

That's my opinion.

You're a funny guy. You don't know anything about fighting games.
I didn't know music was "fighting game" exclusive... assuming that statement actually makes sense to someone.

That right there is some of the most stupid shit I've heard in my life. Lol.
What I find funny is that you still dont seem to know anything about getting money's worth in a product even with a child's metaphor. Even with the over justification for it time and time again, the stereotype for this genre constantly forced upon developers further by the consumers; now gives them more excuses they know are excepted all for the sake of a meme.

Why don't you just buy an RPG and go on with you life? Lol
Only if it has a playable lizard! Bow-chicka-bow-wow

SCVI: Has lizard=I'll buy it

SCVI: Has no lizard=

You do realize fighting games take the time to get a music artist/orchestra to make the music right? They don't google "Super epic cool music for fighting game hurp hurp". If they looked it up all fighting game music would sound the same because they would be looking up the same stuff. Not to mention the copyright issues that would come from doing that.

Thats not what I said, but they have to have the actual game designed before they can choose music that would fit the design seeing as it doe come forst and takes a lot more thought.

There are many factors that come into play when writing and composing music for a video game, film, etc. Having the game fully designed can help sometimes, but it is not a necessity.

You're right they don't have to deal with any issues at all, they just need to hire an artist who can fit the genre of the game, make each bgm represent each character and stage, develop the music to make it enjoyable and not bland, they need to work on melodies and harmonies and rhythms to keep pace with the actual gameplay, they need to make 32 BGM's and more for character select story mode creation, and most importantly get it approved by diashi and namco before they put money into it. Easy stuff right?

The next game: Please make a better story mode that revolves around each character and not just a few. Make the next nightmare unambiguous. And yeah I agree they need to step it up with the music; not that the music is bad, but it needs to go with the game's flow and battle rhythm (soul calibur 2 styles please). Return weapon master mode and other single player modes. Soul Calibur 2 voice actors and announcer. We need those great voices. Character selection music that is as epic as History Unfolds from Soul Calibur 2. Let the characters appear in the screen, do a move and taunt during versus mode selection. Also let them say something when it goes "Versus so and so". Just gives us more preparation and confidence to fight. MOST IMPORTANT: Focus on character design, quotes, and especially moves and frame data more than graphics and stages. I do not want another good graphic but rushed game with so many glitches. No step g and step cancels.

I only have one two things to say about the music discussion.
1)I LOVE AND ADORE THE MUSIC IN THIS GAME. Hilde's Daybreaker song is beyone epic. Nightmare's Pavor Nocturnus is spine tingling. Yoshimitsu's Tread Ye the Path of Bravery is dramatic and powerful. Zwei's Sleepless, An Untamed Beast is Godlike. I can go on but those are my favorites. Whoever did the music for SCV, did it right in my opinion. No. They made it near perfect!
2)Why isn't the song 'If There Were Any Other Way' made DLC?!!!! The ultimate song of the Soul Calibur series in my opinion. Those epic moments where the characters had their destined battles with this song playing was the best thing ever. I would buy this in a heartbeat so I can play it for SCV.
