If There Were Any Other Way is like some gangsta, I'm about to go get these mofos classical music. There are times that is all I listen too when playing SCV.

You're right they don't have to deal with any issues at all, they just need to hire an artist who can fit the genre of the game, make each bgm represent each character and stage, develop the music to make it enjoyable and not bland, they need to work on melodies and harmonies and rhythms to keep pace with the actual gameplay, they need to make 32 BGM's and more for character select story mode creation, and most importantly get it approved by diashi and namco before they put money into it. Easy stuff right?
That was never a problem in the series which is why I said it was easy. They have full control over the music. I never heard a bad song in this series and dont expect to because its all subjective preferences. Plus now you can select stage music or character themes manually, just play your favourites on all the stages.

Why are we talking about this? I mean we arn't even shure that will there another soul calibur game. And the possibility is pretty low that Namco is making another soul calibur game.

Daishi stated that if we keep our 'excitement up' for SCV, he's eager to work on the next SC game. I hope this might mean the rumor for DLC chars so Zas and Talim can be back for that November rumor. But I guess that's pretty much the word for saying SCVI is a go.

Maybe SC6 was considered since Tekken Tag 2 is already out and now Namco can give PS their attention again. Maybe even use the profits to give PS the left over resources given to TTT2... Even the table scraps may have a chance. I also believe the same, however there are tons of exceptions. Too much content is never a bad thing.

i wouldnt be suprised if something SC related was released due to DoA5 and TTT2.
I've never had a chance to really get into this franchize even though im a HUGE fighting game fan, but I've heard from friends that Tekken-tag2 is held to be the most fun Tekken to date. Well built and effort was distributed everywhere that fans even say its better then DOA5 which itself was considered a good game this year.. From what people say, you can see a solidly fun experience from the labor of love they put into the game. The sad thing is this is from the same company too. Fans of the series are very loyal and would by the games regardless.. They though only do well if they get the games they are loyal to. Not a Tekken or SF parody, not a Clone, not a spin off under a different title. The name SC is its own hype. If they want to bring the game to new people; bring in people new to the game. Let the fans tell their friends why SC is better then Tekken or DOA or whatever for its own unique reasons. Thats how I got hooked.

If this is all true then I hope that this competition would get PS jealous enough to back in the studio and layout everything they need to do to get their name back up there. Throw away everything they thought was good in SC5's preproduction (The Street fighter / Tekken jot-notes) and dust off their original receipe book to retrospect. Start from scratch.

Sad that Soulcalibur has now been treated as competition with Tekken, a game published by the same company.

Gameplay-wise, PS is okay with what they have in SCV. Even with some features that people don't like as much (Just Guard). However, the next game will likely include even better changes.

Roster is where I have a HUGE feeling it will get all shot to hell, because one reason people love Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is the HUGE roster of nothing but veterans, no matter how non-canon the game itself is. Same manner with Super Street Fighter 4 (The popular characters from each SF series returned in this game).

Despite their differences in roster, mechanics and number of dimensions, its worse it being within the same company. Sibling rivalry. Though I think Tekken has a smarter producer even though PS has the creative inovation.

I don't know about that. SC was good with its original formula. The edits and addition of mechanics from other popular games is what made SC5 what it is now and all of that is totally uneeded to me. Despite how unbalanced SC3 and SC4 were to some, it was atleast using it's own stapled engine that could have just been tweeked and not changed like what Tekken had done. Doing what they did seemed like such a cop out and it even seemed dishonest to themselves too saying that the only way they can only sell their game is if they market it using the gimmicks or features of other games.

Clearly what SC should do. Its an unwritten rule that the veterans are the staples to the roster, if they wanted new characters they should have given them weapons of their own brand new so they can be veterans of their own style in a few years. Natsu is easy to fix but the rest.

Probably just upset they can't spam counters and win any more...
It isn't the case, it was a thing about the strings or something. I can't remember the details so I can't really explain it. I would have to ask them again.

I've also heard it's more noob friendly than previous titles.
I don't have the game so I can't judge for myself.

Changing the formula a bit throughout installments is what producers do to keep players interested. The Sims does it often.

SC has always used some type of gimmick to attract players to the gameplay. Critical Edge (SB version) was the first, but there was not much attention towards it. It was more like an extra, just like the hand-to-hand combat it had. Guard Impact was the next (which called it their own), then Soul Charge was the next gimmick. I think this time SC just needs something they can call their own., or a problem solving deal. What is it that other fighting games have problems with during the gameplay that SC is able to solve? Something that the 90s was able to do back then with the likes of Battle Arena Toshinden (first introduced sidestepping). SC is the only 3d weapon fighting game out, so they need to use that to their advantage instead of leaning towards hand-to-hand counterparts.

But of course I'm going too far into this, and it is only random talk of suggestions, so don't take this statement above too seriously.

The new characters are fine in gameplay this time. However, the next installment needs the replacements to have some variation of moves that they can call their own. Xiba has fulfilled this task already. Natsu needs some changes, though we won't expect much of them. Leixia definitely needs some changes because she's mini-Xianghua right now. Alpha Patroklos (I'm assuming this will be what happens to him canonically) will need some moves he can call his own, since he has the same moves as Setsuka, except some changes because their previous inputs involved Set's umbrella. Maybe some moves from his regular version.

Pyrrha.....Regular Pyrrha and Pyrrha Omega's movesets combined could make her character do greatly, and could piss some people off too in the process.

Then veterans (I'm sticking with Talim, Zasalamel, and Yun-Seong for now) will be easy to include.

More new characters with new weapons should join the fray of course.

SC5 had great marketing and hype it was just a huge let down HOW they market it, to aim to please other fanbases that dont even play SC..
Tournaments was that marketing strategy for them. All I've seen, besides that, are small ads on the internet and one poster of Ivy, unlike Tekken which had commercials after commercials.

The sims is different thought because their aim to being in a brand new experience and most of the consistancy is preference based and only works for your own taste, fighting games are suppsed to be competitive while consistant in terms of the engine to what people know and what already works. All fighting games should do is keep it the same but tweek whats already there and just balance out what was wrong in the previous games. Drastic changes are too dangerous for an engine people are already used to when playing competitively. They dont have the suport to make "test games". The only character that was really "tweeked" gaining a major improvement was Lizardman.

Personally I dont like having Xiba over Kilik. I just liked Kilik's style more I dont know why. To a lot of people its not just gameplay but its their attachment to the roster they grew up with. For most people they can play any version of the game from SC2 to SC4 and still have their main under any circumstance.

I mean, the "next generation" just looks like an unoriginal visual clone festival to me now. Nothing really new and all they offer is just horrible personalities, terrible voice acting and irrelevance to the series IMO. The only new characters I liked were the Alexandra children...though I for one need Cassandra back but it makes things difficult to cast. 3 sheild and sword users? Patroklos can work if he stuck to the long sword and had moves similar to Link's without the sheild and magic.

LI Long missing since Soulcalibur....Did come back with a very small move set in SC3 which did him no justice what so ever.
