Ideas for new characters?

If you have watched the anime called 'Noein', then you would know of a character named Karasu. He has a sword and some aura type of power, he reminds me of Necrid a bit. Just a simple idea.

A potato....

On a another note, Why not combine Setsuka's Lai sword and Taki's Kodachis? Taki + Setsuka= Saki.

Personality like the typical Taki with some hint of Setsuka yet a young and serious personality...

I'd want this character to be execution heavy like Alpha Pat.

Pardon my CAS post, but this picture may give you an idea on what I'm thinking about.

I was thinking a multi-dimensional weapon would be really cool for the game. What I mean is, make a girl (like Elysium) be the final boss of the game, and as such, she weilds a specific weapon which will transform into a different one with every attack she does. So, if her base weapon is a sword, if she does a A > B > C > D+E combo it will look something like this: Sword > Katana > Spear > Scythe UB attack.

I also like the idea of giving weapons some sort of elemenal "relation" such as lightning, fire, wind, ice, etc. We know Siegfried is related to ice, but that's just the character. I would like somebody to have a lightning sword with sparks flying around it... or a flame one.

Another idea I have is a summoning character. Now, we already have that with Zwei, but I mean summoning an actual weapon. So he would be bare handed until you press a button for an attack, in which he will summon his weapon.

Finally, I LOVE the way they designed one of the characters from BlazBlue, the robot girl with the flying swords...? don't know her name but that style is really cool and flashy. One of the characters from Warriors Orochi 3 has it as well. He can summon flying swords from the ground as his special attack.

I want a character like Viola but instead of one orb, make it 3 orbs. 1 orb wasn't enough.
Right, 'cause we need more of them orbs XD

Zane's ideas are interesting. More in the fantasy weapon category. Now that we have ZWEI, why not? If they were careful and did it subtly, might turn out looking good.

I want a scythe user too though and a scimitar. I miss Yun's style so maybe they could bring back parts of it.

Oh you mean like Algol? Yeah. We have one. His name is Algol. He summons Shields, Spikes, and swords. Like a boss.

I wouldn't mind having a sorcerer in the game (Not the annoying orb wielding OP biatch Viola), more of an ACTUAL sorcerer. Maybe a necromancer. Screw it, why not just trade some characters from Mortal Kombat? I'd give them the annoying Greek twins for some of their characters. Shang Tsung would be so awesome in this game, the ability to soul steal your opponent to become them but with a 25% damage bonus... imagine the OP possibilities.

This plus the ability that Shang Tsung can shape-shift into any character. Who knows, he can transform into any of the missing or removed characters at will.

Yeah, he belongs in Soul Calibur more than any other character. I mean just the name Soul Calibur would appeal to Shang Tsung's thirst for souls. He could start out as old man Shang Tsung, and then every time he soul steals you, he could regain health, become younger, and level up his fighting style. I'm sorry, but I really do think Namco could do a better job with Shang Tsung than Netherrealm studios. Although NRS can keep Quan Chi... he's a bit too creepy and MK-y for Soul Cal.

Yeah, Shang Tsung would fit right in with the rest of the SC cast. I mean, he can steal souls, shape-shift at will, and can you imagine him with Soul Edge? He would be unstoppable. I think Shang Tsung should start out either old or young as his 1p or 2p. His 3p should be his movie incarnation (Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa anyone)? And as far as his weapon style is concerned, I remember him in MK:DA using a Chinese sword style but we have Xianghua and Leixia who use that style. I think he should be wield some sort of weapon enhanced by his sorcery and a fragment of Soul Edge or fight unarmed but surprise his foes by shape-shifting into a warrior with a weapon. I don't know how that would turn out other than Shang Tsung just collecting souls to remain young and ultimately obtaining Soul Edge.

Yeah, Shang Tsung could fight unarmed until he shapeshifts. However, you have to remember, he's not completely unarmed. He has fireballs and the ability to teleport/possess the opponent and steal the opponent's soul. Those would prove to be some very interesting game mechanics.

And Algol belongs in Mortal Kombat too, the ultimate hero king challenging the warlord Shao Kahn. Imagine the EPICNESS!!#@! "I will teach you the way TRUE kings fight." *Initiate projectile spam*

It has to happen, someone needs to tell Namco to make a deal with NRS, Shang Tsung in SCVI, and Algol in MK10.

I demand it. Screw Kratos, screw Ezio.

Shang Tsung in SCVI and Algol in MK10? I smell crossover...Soul Calibur X Mortal Kombat! If Namco and Project Soul haven't done a crossover with SC and Tekken by next year or anytime soon, then this crossover would be epic.

Nah, that wouldn't work too well. Just a small character trade. Shang Tsung belongs in Soul Calibur, just like Algol belongs in Mortal Kombat, and Devil Jin belongs in FREAKING TEKKEN.

Algol's style is not summoning, as his weapons and other "props" are actually embeded in him, so they are part of his body in essence. By summoning I meant something like this: skip to 8:37

Or like this one:
Except if THAT^ were to ever happen, there would need to be lots of nerfing for the swords and cooldown time.

I like the idea of putting fantasy characters such as sorcerers as well, but we would really need to get rid of their projectile attacks. We don't want a DBZ game. The posibilities of weaponry are countles. Something like a Trident (or any weapon of your choice) that can enable you to open "black holes" or "portals" in certain directions (left, right, back, forward) after each attack, which would result in making your attacks safe if blocked (like Ein) but if the wrong portal is summoned, then you are left at disadvantage. Ex: let's say 66B stab is -25 on GRD but I predict you will step forward so I follow it up with a portal opened forward, making my 66B -2 on GRD or so. If you can't picture it well, just think of a mini 15-frame Dormmamu black hole after your attack, as opposed to Ein.

I was also discussing with a friend about Dopplegangers. That is something we've never seen in SCV... or in any game for that matter... not that i know of actually, except for like Kenshi in MK. But the possibility of having your double (either your spirit form or your clone or something else that comes out from within your character) come out and finish the combo for you... THAT would be flashy. I'm not saying something like Kenshi from MK, he's too OP. But something like this: "A" launcher hits, you can combo with B > C > D > E+F during which E+F will be the move where your "spirit" or such comes out and finishes the combo for you.

Just some ideas I've had, but I doubt they are do-able in a gam such as SCV... then again, they did make Viola and Zwei....

Those summons look really retarded, sad to say. You could always rip off of MK9 (I hate the game but they get their character designs and sorcery down right), Quan Chi summons a spectral blade in one of his fatalities, it's pretty epic. Shao Kahn spams the living shite out of his summoned spears/hammers.

Black holes and dopplegangers. Do you mean: Noob Saibot?

Which wouldn't bother me. Again, Shang Tsung. In Soul Calibur. Nao. Noob Saibot can come too if he's on his best behavior.

By the way, Projectiles are fine for me imo, they're much easier to dodge in a 3D environment than a 2D. I don't know why people hate Algol's bubbles. Seriously, they're easy as pie to avoid. Besides, you could count off some of Ivy's attacks as a sort of projectile. It's very similar to Shang Tsung's ground-skulls of death. Hell, some of Zwei's attacks could be considered projectiles. Long reaching and safe is the key idea behind them

1. No need to have original ideas: SCIII was full of potentially awesome fighting styles (and some awesome characters too)... The team just need to get their eyes and brains out of their ass pockets.
2. What we need? Characters with actual charisma. SCV characters fell flat, and the ones who were supposed to have charisma ended up as boiled potatoes (I'm looking at you Patroklos, Viola and ZWEI!)
3. If they wanna get something original (aka "that wasn't already in a Soul game"), they could inspire themselves from the already stated Dynasty Warriors series. These guys have LOADS of weapons, SC could at least "steal" one!
4. If you REALLY want an original idea: Steampunk inquisitor, travelling back in time to get one of the Soul swords to make the "Steampunk Revolution" happen. He would wield a backsword or a katzbalger and a gun (used like Ezio's or Cervantes'). My idea is stupid? Well what do you think about a hovering naked man who has been roaming around the planet for 17 years without anybody noticing, huh?
5. About hovering, Elysium needs to have a hovering sword like in her artwork. Zhong Hui from the Dynasty series is a wonderful example.

1: Original wouldn't hurt

2: Meh, a better story line for everyone would do well I'd say.

3: No.

4: No.

5. What?

Stick to what SC series has been doing, guest characters and original characters. Nothing else. I think a cross-character switch between MK and SC would do well. As the discussion earlier stated: Shang Tsung fits perfectly in Soul Calibur, it'd be neat to see him. However, I could settle for some decent original characters. Or just add new ones with the same old styles but ADD A BACKSTORY.

Like Maxi could have a daughter who ends up being an orphan, tough on the outside, cute and innocent on the inside. As long as there is a story for us to get attached to them.
