1st lets ban all the top tier characters. Then lets petition for changes that nerf any other good characters and buff up all the weak ones. That way when THEY are top tier we can ban them too.
While we're at it lets let everyone make their opinion sound like it counts for something that way everyone can voice concerns for the characters that they like/play so they get better.


Honestly im not trying to be rude. I think unless there is a verifiable bug or infinite we don't need all these changes. The game is the way it is. Tiers or no, I've played against people who are good with every character. From Algol to Maxi.

I think if changes keep being made we will end up losing the game we call soul calibur and will one day wake up to a game that we no longer recognize. To me this would be a very sad day.

You failed, sorry. Using sarcasm then saying that is something like saying "no offense intended, but..." then saying something offensive.
 
I don't mind the rudeness in this case, the community is acting a fool trying to ban Algol. This game is really pretty balanced compared to past games, and Algol doesn't stand head and shoulders above any of the other top tier characters.

People just need to stop running into bubbles and crying about it.
 
Yeah, but lets face it, no one will ever be happy if all the banning and nerfing continues.

i suppose sometimes you have to cross a line to make a point. I second Kowtows comment. the community IS acting the fool.

I don't want to the game to keep taking on new forms evey update. This is kind of like a slippery slope argument. I don't want to get into where it could lead becasue there is no way to know.

All in all I know it really doesn't matter...but the less the game is changed the better.

Lets it keep it to actual bugs or infinities. Other then that people will work their way through "problem charcaters" it always happens, it just takes time.
 
I try to think of the "lower tiers" as challeges. I main sophie but playing one character get boring after a while So I play nightmare as well. lol if you really want to challenge yourself play rock.

I think it would also take away from the "wow" factor. I was playing a match and I lost to someone playing rock. I was more impressed then anything else. All I could think was this guy is good at this game, he understands it. I would be scared to fight him playing another higher tier character.

there is something to be said for balance but it must be approached cautiously. Thats all I wanted to get at.

I know. In reality, banning something is just plain stupid and takes the fun out of the game. Just look at SSBB. Damn near all of the arenas have been banned. The last part was just showing my distaste of both characters.
 
I can see what you're saying, Thane. I personally think that the lower characters deserve a boost, but I agree with you that it should be done carefully, with a good amount of thought and consideration for matchups with other characters i.e. don't just give Rock fucking plus frames on everything. Also, we should prioritize bugs and hitbox issues over buffing/nerfing characters.
 
if namco keeps adjusting stuff you'll never have a "final" game to get competitive with. think about that!

More eloquent then i could have put it. especially that last part. also...
jaytech reiterates my point.

This is a fourm after all. For the love of souls! If there is a problem w/ lets say algol, lets get together as a community as figure out what works best against him.

just using him as an emample but through information people can find counters to the "broken" stuff which will result in people finding counters to the counters and whala! we now have high level play.

if it doesn't get your heart racing its not a match.
 
Eventually, and hopefully, Bamco will have ironed out the bugs, and made the tiers close enough so that someone at the bottom doesn't have to work their ass off and win through fucking flukes and ignorance on the opponent's part. At that point, we as a community can tell Namco that everything's peachy, and to stop fiddling around with stuff. Assuming it even happens though, it least won't be for a while.

Like this is a new twist. Arcade versions have typically versions received updated versions several times over their lifespan as well.
