Connection problems

First, I did try and google this, but finding something relevant through all the crap seemed to be impossible. Also really wasn't sure of the best place to post this..figured it somewhat fits here. Anyway

Basically, online I'm losing connection from matches way too often. After losing connection 7 or so matches in a row, I figure it's definitely something wrong on my end like the genius I am. I was wondering if anybody has had this problem before or knows any possible fixes for it?

Currently the only option I can think of is phoning my ISP, but I want to put off talking to their customer service as long as possible.

Any/all help would be appreciated...thanks.

If your NAT type isn't open, that's the first thing you should fix. If it is or if you change it and it doesn't help anything, you should forward these ports (depending on system):
Port 88 (UDP)
Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
Port 80 (TCP
TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658

These solutions are for dealing with difficulties connecting to people in the first place. I'm not sure how they'll affect disconnects that occur after a connection is already established. That might just mean the connection between players is bad enough that the game automatically drops the match rather than have you sit in a frozen/unplayably laggy match, which might happen a lot if you live in a more remote region of the world and are more likely to have bad connections to the larger amount of players that come from more populated places. Alternatively my guess could be completely off, in which case you should call your IP or consult with someone who actually knows about networking instead of pretending to like I do.

Thanks, will tye the suggestions but not sure if it will help. I have no trouble finding matches themselves. My internet connection is all over the place with ping spikes occasionally...which is probably linked to the disconnects. All I know is that it's fucking annoying. T_T

Are you on a wi-fi network? Wired is your best bet for stable connections. Also if your connection is shared, that could be the culprit for the spikes.

Wired isn't really a possibility unfortunately. And well, there are four others that use the internet connection in the house..so yeah. However, even when playing at like 5am and everybody is asleep I'm still getting disconnects.

Phoning the ISP it is.

I figured that out after a while, for about a year I used to be a big CoD and Gears fan, and my connection would always spike if someone got on a computer in the other room. I found out later to buy better internet speed around 45MBPS, and a corded connection works best.

And if anyone is ever using Dial Up, or gets disconnected when the phone rings, switch from that internet service ASAP.
