Vincent maybe you should come out and play before you call others weak. If you go to fr do you want to money match me? 1st to 5 for 50? Since I'm not a major player it should be easy money right?

Ill add that you want there to be an excuse as to why mt won because it invalidates all of your bs reasons why you lose with leixia.
 
Well, this is an interesting thread. But then I thought to myself, "Are there any Maxi players that consistently place?" Well, IROCKTHEMAXI seems to be handling that "offline" scene pretty well. I think he's made top 8 at two events so far and just got SECOND at this one. How about we talk about that as well!

You mean my own videos that show off how bad I am? I never claimed I'm good. I'm not a scrub anymore, either. I bitched in the past, I'm better about it now. Look, buddy. I already said that I'm not trying to downplay MTFighter's victory, or whine about Leixia. Rather the opposite. This victory means FallenAngell can finally shut up about how Leixia can't win majors, because lo and behold, it has been done. If anything, I'm up-playing MTFighter's victory. He gave us all hope when we're surrounded by naysayers like Fallen and Cdn. When our character has consistently come up at the bottom of every tier list since the patch. When we're using our good tools to get meager damage, and other characters are using great tools to get gangbuster damage. MTFighter has proven that this game is not so unbalanced that a low tier character can't win tournaments. He has proven that our effors with this character are not fruitless! Yes, it is still harder for us. But it is not impossible! And he has shown us how to do it right.

I'm going to say it over and over just because it's pissing you off. Leixia is low tier. Leixia is low tier. Leixia is low tier. Leixia is low tier. Leixia is low tier. Leixia is low tier. Now I'm going to reiterate the point of my post. Leixia is NOT unviable. Leixia is NOT unviable. Leixia is low tier but NOT unviable.

I can't remember the last time I seriously said that, but since I've done the unthinkable and brought reality into such a silly thread, I'm sure you've already got all this ammo ready to shoot at me. So remind me when the last time I said something like that was. Go on, show me. Expose me for the fraudy scrub fraud I am.

You are quite obviously hyperzealous and running on some sort of cocaine-speed mixture invoked by the victory of your character in a major, which has caused you to think that our character is something she isn't. And you're distorting my message because you're so uncontrollably coked up by this that you can't see what I'm trying to say.

MTFighter has a gift to make brilliant reads and CH fish at the right times. This is something he's always been known for for years. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be something everyone can achieve. Take that as you will.

Lexia did not win WB7. MT FIGHTER WON WB7!!!

For those who are dumbfounded, MTfighter can basically play ALL THE FEMALE CHARACTERS AT A HIGH LEVEL (well the whole cast period). So don't say "Lex won WB7" or "Weak Players" or "Character inexperience"......

MT FIGHTER won WB7!! There should be no surprise here. He was and is the favourite to win it. Even with a Ramon or Woahhzz or whoever in attendance.

Those who are surprised pretty much never played Soul Calibur before 4 and should leave this thread and forum now.
 
I think it's good that the Leixia community got this morale boost, but she is NOT the best character in the game. If she was, everyone would use her. But you don't see Leixia at every single tournament, do you Frayhua? She is not as versatile, or as effective in roles that others can fulfill. That being said, she fulfills roles others don't.

MTFighter's victory could also be a sign of things to come, but I don't think it will, because as ZeroEffect said,

he has a gift for making good reads and CH fish. He also said not everyone can achieve this, so Leixia is not going to be looked upon as the new Mitsu. Many players would rather stick with their current character, rather than learn Leixia and all her match ups, along with their original character.

Also, it's MTFighter, not Figher. That is not a word.

I know she not the best in the game, but she's very good.

Who said people are going to pick up Leixia because of MTFighter's victory?

I don't mean they should stop trying, though. If they really feel like they can learn from what they saw and run with it, I say go for it. All I was saying is that it's more about MTFighter's clutch decision making and timing that made the difference. And people knew the matchup. Doesn't matter though if you're guessing wrong more than not.

As a wise man once said "It's the player, not the character.".

In other words, I agree with you.
 
This was a pretty good win for Leixia (top 5 was fuckin' hype to me) but don't expect the naysayers to stop saying nay. I just want to address a couple of things with my opinions.

1. "There weren't any top players there."

While there may have not been the players that people think dominate there, I want to note a list of: IRM, who has been continually improving, practicing, taking advice, and doing better in tournaments and under pressure (he still will never ever beat me); Kab - it's kAb - enough said; Thermidor - I can guarantee that Therm will blow most of the naysayers up no problem; JJJ - like IRM, he's getting better and better; MAMBA! - IT'S FUCKIN' MAMBA!; Sandman - I guarantee that, if I can sit down with this guy, he will become a top SC player. And not to mention Rikuto, ,OmegaXCN, and KDZ who always have strong showings.

The characters are the the artists' tools and how you play them is an expression of your thoughts and skills. Look at MTFighter play and tell me it was ass (it wasn't). If he can win with Leixia, others can too. I will note that MT wasn't feeling confident before the tourney and he managed to pull off comebacks with Leixia left and right. That's skill, my friends.

ZeroEffect, you now have you vs. Rikuto and JJJ to compare with MTF. True enough, different players have different strong points. With that said, you need to find your own. It's easy to keep saying, 'Leixia Leixia Leixia' and discounting your own involvement. And, like I told you before, if it truly is the character, then you should be able to do much better with a character that allows you to do what it is you need to do. If not, you should figure out what it is that you are or aren't doing that's causing you to lose instead of blaming her. You lost to two people he beat with the same character; that just shows that there's room for improvement. I know MTF picks your brain - why don't you ask him for some pointers on how to improve your game?

2. You all are pretty much saying that MTF won because he's a good player. By that logic, you all lose because you are bad players. If there's something I'm missing here, either get better or change characters.

3. I love Kayane but MTF is a stronger player than her.

4. I don't think any of you, using Leixia or another character, could do what MTF did at WB. Stop looking for cop-outs.

5. IAB, why don't you worry about how you're doing instead of trying to ride IRM's coattails. The dude's put in work and, while he's arrogant, he at least shows up and makes a dent. You showed up to an event and lost to somebody that you play online and then don't even stay to play any more. Come on, brah.
 
One last note because of what the airplane Will Smith guy said. Coming into SC4 while I was in the Army, I had damn near ZERO matchup experience. What one of the people who taught me to play well, ThugishPond, told me was, "Don't play the matchup - play the player." The thing I will note is that, unless you just know people like some people do, you have to actually have a good understanding of the game and be good at it before you can simply play the player. A lot of you guy's mistake is that you are taking for granted that you're good enough that your character choice doesn't matter and thus the only reason you're losing is because you play Leixia when that's simply not how things are. Goodbye.
