Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, this is just a reminder that NEC as far as Calibur goes is NOT the tournament to miss. This is going to be the end all be all tournament this year for our beloved series. Not only is it NEC, a BIG E tournament which is always the hypest tournament for us historically, but it's one that is going to have epic story lines that will answer a lot of questions. Who is truly the best?

Whether or not we have international competition(hint hint we will) the top name in North America will be there to display there skills and show how this game is truly supposed to be played. Here are a few things to look forward to.

We will have what I will be calling the Dream Suite. This is a suite that will be housing 5 of the top players for Soul Calibur 5 (and myself). The plan is that along with these 5 gladiators we will be having the Chicago crew and Woahhzz in for a FT 10 bonanza of MMs and dream matches. The 8 players included in this will be Xeph, LostProvidence, Hawkeye, Partisan, Jimbonator, IRM, Woahhzz, and Reptile. These FT 10's and dream matches will all be streamed(thanks to IRM) and recorded for all of our viewing pleasure.

~side note-
I have limited it as of right now to these few players not to be exclusionary or with some kind of elitist agenda, but with the thought of how bad our room got last year. We are limiting the amount of people in the room along with a set of fairly stringent rules regarding food/drink and waste left behind. Also, and I'm being 100% honest here, this may be the last tournament I'll be able to attend for a long time so these are matches that I want to see and have been wanting to see since the game came out. I think I deserve this one bit of selfishness on my part to make sure that they do take place. I do apologize if anyone is overly sensitive and may get offended but please know that this isn't something I'm doing to specifically exclude anyone. Once again I think these are matches that we all will want to see and this in my opinion is the best way to see that they happen.

Okay now with that out of the way, if we're able to get these matches done, I can see us opening up the room to host casuals with at least 3 set ups and who knows what else we can do. (The above stated rules will still be in place. Sorry guys but we CAN NOT have a repeat of the toxic waste dump that became our room last year).With that being said let me give you all a taste of what's in the works.

We've got two confirmed $100 MM's between IRM and LP, and Jimbonator and Hawkeye. With more to come.
We've got the aforementioned FT 10 dream matches with any of those 8 players.
We will have the Xephukai Grudge match circuit. Where a group of our up and coming players will challenge Xeph in their own FT 5s for $20 and maybe a few surprises thrown in.
We may have a "high roller" buy in mini-tournament where winner takes all. (Format TBD)
This is a Big E tournament so there will be plenty of drinking, shit talk, and maybe a rant or two for your viewing pleasure (much better to be there in person though and take part).
By the time NEC comes around we will of course have SC2HDO and who knows what kind of madness will come about thanks to that. I'm sure if Namco were to get involved in anyway it would be then to hype up the release of the most successful and beloved game in the franchise.
And last but not least the possibility (*coughcoughthey'llbetherecoughcough*) of highly skilled international players.

So once again folks this is not the tournament to miss. If you do trust me you will regret it. Think of the possible matches that you will be there to witness first hand. We haven't had a tournament with this much star power since... last NEC. Only now our up and comers from then are some of our more established vets! This can't be missed. Now is the time to get those plane tickets and reserve those rooms. If you need help finding a roommate let me know and I'll ask around and see if anyone else is looking. Please if you're a new guy/gal do not hesitate in asking for help. We will all do what we can to make this as smooth and worry free as possible for you. Most of these guys are vets now and can help you on what to expect and all of them would be more than happy to answer your questions.
