Lost Swords

I have lv 28 pyrrha with full powered valkyrie, but the CPU blocks every setup and mixup, and breaks every throw. I do BBB, then they block punish with stab...

I also have lv 36 nightmare, and grim stride A fails after 2nd hit when they block and stab punish me...

the very hard AI in the last soul edge scramble was way easier than this one.

hmm .. I am literallly just doing bbb all day long. if they start stepping a lot, aaaa or 4ab.

there is a pyrrha-style enemy with black hair that does block everything and really does nothing else. I usually grab her a lot. cpu doesn't usually break too many of my grabs. with that specific enemy, I usually only finish the bb(b) and aa(aa) strings if I see them hit

bbb, 236b:4 and bbb, super ... there are longer / stronger combos than that ... but for speed-run purposes, I just do those and then spam bbb right as they're waking up ... they usually get hit

Did they design the AI in this game to be spiteful!?

you're both holding block, you try to attack, they beat you by one frame. you both hold block, you try to attack, they beat you by one frame.
When time is of the essence they do the longest strings and moves possible and when it;s your turn to attack they suddenly develop super psychic blocking abilities.

I use Ivy, and it;s bad enough I'm stuck with a B class weapon, but the only moves the work are spammy pokey stuff, I can get people in an infinite loop of bbA, bbA, bbA but actually fighting fairly, the computer becomes the worlds biggest fucking arsehole.

I'm rewarded for spamming, for hours on end the same attack, and it works almost flawlessly.

spam 3A until you get a counter hit, 2K, then bbA, bbA, bbA, bbA...

I think that's just how developers makes fighting game AI. I can't remember playing one where the challenge didn't come from it being extremely good at reacting to your actions. And usually there's a simple exploit (which often is repeating a knockdown move or a very fast move).

It's a shame. I feel Tekken do an OK job with AI.
The enemy will often fall for cheap lows, but then adapt if you start spamming, and you have an OK chance of beating them to the draw.

I must say SC Lost swords is the worst game it could possibly be; they literally couldn't have made it worse.
At the same time it appeals to every part of being a gamer I like: a VS with RPG elements.

it's exactly my type of game, made as badly as possible.

I had my first moment of genuine gameplay pleasure today;
The enemies was one of these types that just kept blocking EVERYTHING and had an unusually huge amount of HP.
They had fire main armor, and had just broke into a wind guard burst.
My Ivy was fire fire and my helper was a water water Sophita.

I knew I had alot of HP to take down, if I ever managed to Soul break, so poke the fuck out of them and just about managed it, then just as their armour shatered (and they were stunned) I timed it so Ivy would not strike again, but leave them stunned momentarily.

Support character swap> Weapon art, bang just before time ran out.

It was class.

In tekken their AI blocks every low on the hardest mode. You literally have to win with counter hits and punishes.

agreed, plus there is a startling weakness toward moves that begin with "ff" as well as delayed hopkicks.

but on the more middling modes, the AI is so much better then SC:LS.
SC:LS is almost as bad as Mortal Kombat.
It's like there is a switch with "super human asshole troll" on one side and "get hit by everything" on the other and the difficult setting is just the ratio of how long it stay flicked one way or the other.
