My point is that the mimics were already made when they rushed the game, and that the other characters were not. Would you rather they removed the finish characters?

You make a game after being hit by a devastating earthquake.
Was a tsunami.
And the whole thing goes back to the first point. The game is incomplete. It aint gonna be the best in the series overall. As in, 'overall' means you have to have every aspect be the best. All it has going for it is CaS, online, gameplay. So don't even argue it's the best in the series regarding an overall aspect. Gameplaywise you can counter with, everything else non.

Oh and BTW, Daishi butthead wanted to erase old characters. Doubt the tsunami made an impact on the choice for the roster. Like look at A.Pat, taking over Setsuka (probably cuz she's old). Then Taki apparently is too old (his quote) to be in. Sophitia died for moe Pyrrha to come up. Xianghua got preggo and dumped and probably hates life and Leixia takes her spot. Zasalamel, Talim and Rock disappeared off the face of the planet (not even a mention in that artbook). And nobody even aged besides Mitsu, Sieg and Hilde (didn't even look like she aged). Probably wanted the mimics for his terribly written story. I'm almost glad it's only 1/4. Don't wanna gag through 3/4 of more weird incesty vibes from Pat and Pyrrha. I've got enough of it with the creepy 'wandering for his lost love' BS for Raphael and screaming out Amy every 5 seconds during a fight.

Random Side note: Mitsu for best character in SCV because there's no epic dumb melodrama going on with him.

Man, who the fuck cares about your fucking waifus. SCV had easily the best gameplay in the series. People are so blinded by Muh Talim that they stop caring about the actual game. shit's a problem yo

Yep, SF is the only game to have a meter system

Daishi specifically said he got his ideas from Street Fighter.

I mean honestly at the end of the day, what's wrong with that? There were 3D FG's before calibur, should we say Calibur sucks now? To be honest, at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter where you got your inspiration from. As long as the finished product is good, it's semantical.

If the new mechanics don't fit, then it shouldn't be there.

Right, but they fit very well ha

@linkorz I agree with all your points on SCV and Nyte is just a straight up SCV hater.

You make a game after being hit by a devastating earthquake.

The game was made in 8 months and was released early because Namco didn't want SCV to compete with TTT2 console version and it came out nearly 8 months later after SCV.

Soul Calibur 3 killed competitive scene but casual fans loved if for its rich content. On the other hand, Soul Calibur 5 brought competitive scene back but casual fans, which are the biggest part of franchise's sales, hate it for its barebones content thanks to short development time.

Developers should stop experimenting with SC. If they want to do that, try creating a new franchise. I bet none of them dare to touch Tekken in any way. Keep the old players, bring on the new, give us a huge roster a lá Tekken and let's roll.

Well, you must not follow Tekken closely then.

Yes I can see how difficult it would be to make a better game than an overrated game that was weaker than it's predecessor, was almost as glitchy as 3 and was almost as badly balanced Kappa
the game maybe badly balanced to those who dont know how to play, but for serious players like me the richness of the movelists, the fluidity in gameplay is just unmatched and make it paossible to get around any imperfection in the game

A joke for a joke; having 6 mimics in SC6? Oh God, no. PS might as well have Edgemaster, Elysium and SCV Kilik return and be joined by Charade and Olcadan. While we're at it, Harada might bring along Tetsujin from Tekken to have as a mimic AND as guest character. `:/

On a serious tip, yes, I along with many others here would like to soon see an SC6 pretty soon but at the same time not have it rushed. I probably wouldn't mind the wait personally if any release won't be until holiday time of next year.

Many different single player modes to mess around with would be a big plus (catering to the casuals... maybe). An even more advanced training mode system can really be beneficial for everyone; I wonder although what PS would have in store for the fighting SYSTEM of the game. Should they have a retro GI system and have a meter system with some features of SCV's meter system removed? Will they mix a combination of features of these systems together? Will they have wall jumps and/or guard jumping (while-landing) attacks return? How about the Soul Charge? What would PS do to make an SC6... SC6? Who here knows?... I sure do not.

We may hope that any of the developers are cluing in on what their consumers would like in a new game. Whether it can be through Facebook community pages, in-person convention Q&A panels, twitter re-tweets, or possibly a small team of them skimming through forum sites from around the world such as this. All for the sake of the players not to be disappointed with what they'll bring out.

Roster requests: *sigh* I won't even go there.

In the meantime, it seems as if we're ALL in the dark about a new release. We are being given taunting clues, which themselves are not even substantial, concrete material in telling us that, 'Oh, finally. We are going to have the next canon sequel to the Soul series.' An SCIIIAE remake for consoles has yet to be done, but I'm sure right now, that not what the people would want at the moment. Plus I don't think it would be good marketing strategy. But that part is only one opinion. Namco-Bandai I would say have a lot on their hands to pull out a real smash with their next Soul installment.

What richness of the movelist, one of the games biggest problems was the fact that only a small percentage of the characters moves were useful, especially compared to the original, not to mention that at the high levels the game was broken by step guard, 2G and the lack of tracking on horizontals, you couldn't ignore the balancing what with how dominant Ivy and Astaroth players were and the games fluidity was beaten by the original and 5. Oh and it gave us Talim, for which I will never forgive the game.

if you say that sc2 is unbalanced , what about sc4 and sc5 lol , you must be joking,

It is though, do you not remember the tournaments when the game was at the peak of its popularity, even if RTD Robert and his Mitsurugi was in the tournament the tournaments were dominated by people playing as Ivy with a few people playing as Astaroth, Xianghua and my eternal least favourite character in all of fighting games Talim, any other character was rare because the rest of the cast simply wasn't seen as viable unless you were an absolutely god tier player, which to be honest was just RTD, sure someone else would pop up sometimes and pull out an upset but they never stuck around.

Before I continue forward I will say I have nothing against Ivy, Astaroth or Xianghua players, just saying there was a shit ton of you.

I still don't like Talim but I have no real problem with the players.

Yes I do think 4 and 5 were more balanced, were they perfect, fuck no, for example in 4, you had rubbish caused by that pointless physics engine they added in, Ivy was still to ptier and a lot of the cast was neutered but there were other options, picking mid-tier could work if you stuck with it and got gud, talented players like Keev who stuck with the mid-tier were now winning just as often as they lost.

5 has become a game of "who can damage Viola without getting caught in an infinite because the Talim players had to go somewhere and they are pissed at losing" but she isn't broken, you git gud, you can still Kayane's viola with your Yoshimitsu, it's not metaphorical suicide as it would have been in SC2 against Ivy player number 55,678.

I'm done ranting now, was nice getting all that of me chest.
