a just ukemi is a ukemi that flashes you right up as opposed to you tumbling to the ground
For example
Yun's 236K has a hit that Yun will Kick the opp straight at the ground (a downward trajectory) If your opp hitss 22_88G at the prisice frame that he hits the ground then in stead of bouncing off the ground a few more times, he will flash (or Just) and be standing up.
So it's like a GI from off the floor?
No, picture your character falling, then you hit G as soon as you hit the floor, as if doing a Just Input (flashes white does more damage etc) and you hop right back up instead of lying on the floor.
exactly. Its not an attack move per-say. If you play yun, you know that the last hit of the 236K kicks the opp straigth at the ground allowing yun to do another 236K if he decided to. But if your opp does a just ukemi, the opp will flash and pop right back up ready to block or punish your second attempt at a 236K.
I was playing the CPU today, against Seong-Mina on EdgeMaster. I was deliberately hitting her with a lot of 236Ks trying to follow with the 9KKK. She Just Ukemied every time. Damn CPU always making it look easy.
So now I understand the purpose of this thread. How can we know when it can be done? But sometimes, getting right up isn't the best option. The most annoying people are the ones who just lay there.
a just ukemi can be done on ANY move that has a downward trajectory (you are hit a certin way that forces you AT the ground) The cpu will always make things look easy, and a just ukemi isnt all that easy to do. If I try to JU 50 times in a night of playing, ill get it bout 10 times. But you are absolutly right, a JU isnt always a good idea. for example mitsu's 2KB. If you just ukemi that, mitsu is still at advantage (which he always seems to be) and mitsu players are usually aware of the alleged "guaranteed damage" after that so if you JU it, you are gonna eat more of his follow up.
I think its more of potentially eating another 50/50 than "guaranteed damage" after a JU.
