Unable to create rooms in SoulCalibur V

My nat type is at Type 2 and the connection is fast and stable. Up until about a month ago, I could create my own rooms for player matches. I can no longer do that or enter the global colosseo. When I try to enter the Colosseo, I get a network error. And despite being in the US, when I look for a room to join, I can rarely find US players to play with. I am able to join rooms when I can find them and I can play matches just fine at 4 to 5 bars. I just have no ability to host them; attempting to create and host my own room results in the error message, "unable to create room.." I've tried opening ports on my router, resetting, and even replacing my router, and nothing has worked so far. Is it possible that my console has been "soft banned" or somthing? I don't know what the issue is, but I think it has something to do with my console and it's connection to the playstation network. My PS4 works just fine; it has no connectivity issues and my PC is the same. Only my ps3 is having this issue. Unfortunately I only play SCV on my ps3, and I don't know of any other games to try hosting matches with. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is or how I might be able to fix it?

I only play on a wired connection, but to see if that was the problem, I've tried creating rooms with a wireless connection as well and had no success.

I can assume you've maybe reset the router, if it happens with other devices too, might be worth calling up your ISP

It only happens with my ps3 when I try to play soulcalibur5. I have contacted my internet service provider and i even had the router replaced. Nothing that I've tried to do thus far has solved the problem. Resetting it, reconfiguring it, or disconnecting all other devices has had no effect.

have you tried this with another PS3?

that's really the only thing that I haven't done at this point. I don't have another ps3 to try it with. It just might be my console.

You might look into your privacy settings in the system settings. I know Xbox would get wonky if you had them set too strict.

I have a similar issue. Can't create rooms, send match requests in Global, or play in ranked. The only thing available for me is joining a room in player match.

That's exactly the problem that I'm having! How long ago did this start happening for you?

About a month or so. After seeing all that you've tried, I'm starting to think it is our ps3 systems. Mine's is around 10 years old and makes a loud noise after it is on for a few minutes. How old is yours?

I'm not exactly sure how old mine is. It's the first smaller model that Sony released. I bought it used from gamestop a few years ago. The only thing that I haven't been able to try is logging into and playing soul calibur on a different ps3. Playing soulcal was the only reason I bought it.

You have a disc based copy? The slims are known for having a fairly weak laser that'll die over time.

Though the only time I had a similar issue was back when I tried to set up my modem's ports in SCIV. I followed the suggested online settings, and I was able to create a lobby but the size didn't matter. Only two people would fit etc.

Yes, my copy is disc-based. However I have no issues playing offline or online in a room if a friend is hosting. I get a "network error" if I search for a Ranked Match, attempt to enter the Global Colosseo when there's no one there, or if I manage to get into the Colosseo because there are players present, I get a network error if I try to enter a match with anyone there. I don't play or own any other online games for my ps3 at the moment. Soul Calibur 5 is the main reason why I still have the console. At this point, I think it's either my system and how it's interacting with the PSN through my router, or it's my account it's self and I've been soft banned somehow...I really wish the Devs still cared about the game.

I think I've figured out the issue. I use a powerline adapter to connect online and after switching to an outlet in another room, I'm finally able to create a room. Just a guess though. Do you use a powerline adapter @

Oddly enough, I changed absolutely nothing and mine also began working again. And with SC6 just being announced, I find it hard to just see it as a coincidence.
