Also, lethal hit is shown here. Hope it isn't random like clean hits in SCV.
I know lethal hits are supposed to be a combo starter, but cmon, a pierce attack should not be able to bounce your opponent, it looks weird and lame. And the way they did it here, it looks like mitsu was send flying by an invisible force rather than by the attack itself.

Now, lethal hits are a cool idea and I like it, but they have to work on that in order to look less silly.

Maybe with stabs or kicks, they should almost fall back instead (like trying to find their balance again) while overheads make them bounce like that. haha

This is bamco remember? Tekken 7 took 3 years to come to console. This won't happen with SCVI but don't be surprised if they keep it till fall 2018 to polish/optimize.
 
Its the only time I'd argue where the 2nd player outfits looks just as good or better than the 1p costumes. Its the only game where I actually liked Seong Mi-na's costume P2 (right).

I actually prefer her SCIII P2 design over the loin-cloth and ponytail completely.
Same happen to me, but if I have to choose one P2 costume that looks better than the P1 it has to be no other than this

The only game I played with Sophitia was in SC3 and it was because of this glorious costume.
 
I'm hoping for July/August. That would be great.

it would sort of make sense, it would be a year after Tekken 7 and that game did very well in the late summer drought.

Gamefaqs was really into T7 for a month or so because there was nothing else

That makes no sense whatsoever. Tekken is developed by an entirely different team, so yes, its very likely it will happen in the first half of next year, I don't mind waiting, but it would surprise me greatly if it took much longer.

I personally think it will come out in the fall, somewhere between September and October.

A few key things to consider in light of that.

Tekken 7 was the team's first game on UE 4, and for a longstanding franchise, that's a huge deal that undoubtedly came with many challenges. They made the core game in about a year, expanded that with FR, THEN spent an entire year crafting Tekken 7's story mode.

It's a farce to compare these development cycles because they are happening under entirely different circumstances. SC6 is being developed from the ground up as a console/pc game.

It seems like the most challenging part of development is through and there's substantially more UE4 experience with the team now and I'll say this: Late Q2/Early Q3 is probably what's happening right now. Any later is a cynical stretch.
 
Soul Calibur was never released in arcades after SCIII:AE because it launched 1st on PS2 with VC glitchs & Chronicles of the Sword file corruption if you delete data that had SCIII saved data on it.
Don't remind me of that fucking thing. I was in the last stage of CotS before the goddamn bug fucked my playthrough in the ass. Still, SC6 will not take long to release, if they were going to take too long, they probably would have just said "its gonna be late next year", but by saying specifically 70% means that they expect people to expect it at the first half of 2018.
 
Yeah I'm also wondering is the Dec. 15th Event Legit because it's in 3 days and I haven't seen any type of announcement or anything.
 
In terms of OST, since we've already heard a few remixes, I decided to go back and listen to the entire SC1 soundtrack, and boy are there a lot of gems. Not that anyone cares, but here's a list of the ones that I thought were the best/had comments incase anyone was interested in listening to what might be in the next game! I was pleasantly surprised that even though it's old, SC1's OST definitely has the same Calibur vibes and amazing qualities the newer games do. If you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and listen to the entire soundtrack!

Light and Darkness - this is a pretty good opening ost and it reminds me of SC2's opening. I definitely want an original song for SC6's opening though

The New Legend - very upbeat and heroic, perfect for Kilik. The SC3 mix is good too, but I definitely prefer this one

Bloom and Harvest - I think this song is good, but I think they could really make it sound amazing if they orchestrated it. It has a lot of potential to be a bop lol

Sail Over the Storm - I like this song, but Maxi has literally had this same theme for 3 games already, so if any theme was getting left behind it should be this one

Duelists - the remix in the original SC6 reveal trailer already sounds amazing <3

Sweet Illusion - I was the most surprised by this one actually. Voldo's themes are usually good (especially Ordinary Pain omg) and this one is no different. I want Voldo to return if only so that this theme can get remixed and orchestrated!

Wings of Faith - dope Sophie theme. From what we can hear in the background of that Greek stage it already sounds amazing again

In The Name of the Father - tbh does not sound like a Nightmare theme to me, sounds a lot more like Siegfried. Not one of my favorites but figured it deserved a mention

Unblessed Soul - very classy Ivy theme. Depending on what her costume looks like this time around and her stage, I feel like this can will give Ivy that elegant feel she sometimes has

Beyond the Horizon - idk if Hwang will be back, but even if he's not this theme NEEDS to come back. I love this version and the SC3 version is even better. It just always got me hype fighting to it, and I can't even imagine what kind of fire remix they would make for it

Chasing Downstream - great song, even though I fucking hate all raft stages because they're always so fucking ugly (even though they were great for Viola lol and except for the lava one) hoping this one comes back in a new stage, maybe Yoshi's ninja hideout? Mt. Fuji is the best raft stage hands down, and it'd be pretty amazing to see it come back especially with it's original SC3 OST remixed to be even greater.

Eye to Eye, Blade to Blade - honestly couldn't believe that this was Seung Mina's theme. It's got a really good dark vibe going on which I feel like they could really bring out in SC6. I was never a fan of Mina but damn is her song good

Going Where The Wind Blows Reprise/piano - the original Healing Winds imo. I'd never heard it before and was surprised how similar they sounded

Kaleidoscope - idk where in the game this plays but I really like it lol can definitely see it being used in a single player mode

Recollection: A Tribute to those who have shed Red - Love. Absolutely love, might be my favorite from the entire soundtrack.

Recollection: (Arcade) - love, love, love

Light and Darkness (Soul Mix) - remember how I literally just said that recollection is my favorite? Well I lied, because this one %100 takes the cake. it's so amazing how this takes from all of the other themes in the game and brings it together <3333 really hope this one comes back in some way shape or form, maybe during a cutscene in story mode. The opera/vocalizing part is definitely my favorite

Sophitia's P2 in SCIII would be a great example of why giving her armor and a complex design is not unappealing contrary to the 'sex sells' standard. Its what I would go to when I would suggest why not giving the female characters some more clothing; or at least a threshold for how much they would have at baseline. If we really wanted to strip them down, thats what CaS is for. The way I like Seong Mi-Na's P2 in SCII is the same in agreement with Sophitia's. Though I still think even with the lighter costumes like her SC4 one still should have had a breast plate. I just think all her lighter costumes should have one like her SCIII P1, because her breasts are exposed in it. I wish her SCVI outfit had one under her top too. That would only make it feel ''complete'' for me. Thats the compromise in design I got from her SCIII P1 outfit.
