Hardest game ever

I'll have to also go with Comix Zone. It is the only game I played that I just couldn't beat.

Wasn't the hardest game but Indalecio/Gabriel with his Limiter off in Star Ocean 2 is insane. Even his normal form can be rough.
 
im playing Ninja gaiden Sigma on PS3 at the moment.

and even on normal difficulty its hard... i spent 2 days just getting to chapter 7

FE6 normal mode was pretty difficult, so I can only assume that hard mode is even worse, but I can't get myself to try it because of really bad level design in some cases. Most of the difficulty in that game came from enemy reinforcements popping out on the enemy turn without you being ready for it, which pretty much never happens in any of the newer games. It makes for some cheap laughs because sometimes the units are particularly strong and you don't stand a chance (Rutger).

The best thing is when an attack will kill your unit IT ALWAYS DOES. Sure it may say 8% chance of hitting, but if the damage is more than your current HP you might as well restart because it is going to hit.
 
the 7th Saga. I don't know why I spent my youth trying to beat that game. It wasn't even fun. You have to like guard ever other turn just to do dmg. The ending was just... grrrrr.
 
Battletoads for NES.

And TMNT was tough in the Technodrome area if you didn't have those 99 scrolls. Shredder was hard too.

not yet, but cod2 normandy part was annoying enough. :P
and planting c4 on tanks in cod4 was more than enough.
tho i plan to one of these days. i'm just thinking it won't be as hard. but it could be just as hard as in those two games you die in a few shots too. right now i'm liking mp too much :P but i'll try it soon to see wat you see.

i know its modded... still looks like it takes a shitload of patience that i don't have.
 
The hardest game i ever played (Which i believe no one i know has even beaten yet) has to Spiderman and X-men's Arcade's Revenge. The game is just soo frustrating. >_< I can beat the Spiderman level, but when it comes to everyone else's level; especially, Gambit's level and Wolverine level with Juggernaut, it drives me nuts ! I still havent beaten it to this day ! >:(

I was seriously just about to post this. In the fifteen years I've been playing it I can't beat a single stage (Besides the first one).

Also, from what I've played of it so far, Revenge of Shinobi. The knockback in that game is ridiculous. The second level can sometimes be impossible solely for the constant knockback near the pits.

Oh, and KOF XI at the final boss.

The Ps2 ver. had all the arrows to help you out, even on hard mode.

Seriously there is no harder game in the Modern day than MDK 2. PERIOD!

I hope someone else has played and beaten this game besides me.

ways i've beaten magaki:

pick shion, spam the fireball...you win
pick eiji, spam the dragonpunch kick jump move...you win
pick ryo/kyo/iori>>>pretty much anybody with a dragon punch...its hard to get in to him, but then do forward+fierce, DP...repeat on wakeup and he won't do anything.
for the challenge mode version pick king, spam SSLM...you win easy as fuck

really it isn't very hard.
 
While Shinobi on the PS2 is hard as far as I know it's the only game where you can 1 shot bosses, That alone makes NG harder than Shinobi.

Surprisingly I find NG 2 easier than NG:Black/Sigma(although after beating the game with the Kusari Gama only I think I can handle anything it throws at me, haven't started hardest difficulty yet though)
