33A-B-B-B jf

Hey im new hear and I was wondering is there any point in doing this move cause i see no advantage or follow ups besides 2:K:

If you mean the move in general, I recently started messing around with it. I use it to train them not to interrupt 33A, ad then take advantage of the fast PO shift off of it.

If you mean just frame vs. non, I have no idea what the difference is.

The difference between the 2 moves is that the JF knocks the opponent down to the floor if you get all four Frames. The regular version just stabs the opponent. Me personally i don't try to go for the JF version because the regular version does wonders for me. Especially after 4 :A:+:B:, :B:, :A:+:B:. Your will ether catch the opponent with the 33:A: if they get up fast & try to attack. If they duck the :B::B::B: will catch them, or they will block but let go cuz of how long the move is. Also keep in mind you can stop if you see them rolling on the ground.

Yes but i havent found any follow ups or increase in damage besides if you do 2K after wich give you 41 instead of 32 if im correct

i'm pretty sure that the non-JF version is negative frames on hit, so landing this move puts you at a disadvantage and pretty much gives up any momentum you may have had, especially against the faster characters. so in light of this, the JF version is superior since they have to get up somehow, where their options are comparatively limited.

You can get some good tech traps off the JF version. 22B catches alot of directions (can't remember which), and 66B:A as well

hmm, so i tested the non-JF move and found that you have a slight advantage on NH/CH, no matter where you stop the string. don't know where i got the idea that it was neg on hit, but i was wrong. SUPER RONG.

I don't see the reason to stop the string. I only cancelled it for the PO shift. Doing to whole move will give you more advantage than cancelling in the middle of it. Good eye though cuz i thought it will be negative on hit too.

Also..i hope this helps everybody but the way i do my JF for this move this QCF when pressing the :B: inputs. Not to fast though..find your rhythm. I usually get about 3/4 JF's. It's still pretty hard though.

well you can catch them by surprise if you stop the string short and they're expecting the whole thing. mental frame advantage and all that. especially if they hear the JF chimes and see the flash... they'll pause for sure. but yeah, taking full damage is usually the best option, or the PO shift. i like the PO shift slightly more on block more than on hit though.

i dunno, i don't find this JF as difficult as A6 for some reason.

Ahh i see where your coming from. I find this one harder than :A::6 cuz there's mutiple frames.

I know. He asked a question so we came together to answer it with the best of our knowledge..and because of leiben we found out some new info. Kudos to you.

here's a suggestion also. In experimenting I came to the conclusion that the colored flashes that come with our weapons determine where a frame ends most of the time. it may be a hassle, but you try and see if that helps w/ the JF. Having tried it myself, it seems to work pretty well. though it may sound lame and time consuming, I believe that this will help your muscle memory to pull off the move w/o a hitch. :) happy practicing!

A6

well i find it hard to do. i get it every now and then, but... yeah it's tough.

for some reason, if i try it after a 6 dash, i can get it fairly consistently in practice mode. same if i try the A:6_AB PO option select. hmm maybe you should check out that discussion... it's in here.
