Okay, so it's really just that Tira can be chip damaged into Gloomy mode now. But still, there's a LOT of improvements. Even Gloomy's movement speed has been increased. We won't know all of Tira's improvements until we play her for ourselves.
It's a lot of minor adjustments that definitely improve her overall game. Her JS :6::(6)::A::A: is safer, so she will no longer be launch punishable after using her most basic run attack. Her JS :6::B::K: string can no longer be ducked ON HIT. She can switch from JS to GS a lot easier. Yeah...
I like what I see! Especially the buffs to JS :6::B::B: and :6::B::K: strings. I guess her JS :4::B: string is meant to be somewhat unreliable. Not any real huge changes, but lots and lots of small changes that could make her mid-tiered. Has the patch landed yet? What time is it supposed to land...
I'm loving the number of up arrows. I have high hopes. They even address :6::B::B: and :6::B::K:. Buuuuut... I don't see anything about Tira's :4::B: string. Kinda hope it gets better. Don't want people side-stepping her :4::B::B::K: anymore.
Oh well. Twenty buffs is definitely worth the wait...
This is why I like walled stages more than open stages. You can do more cool combos and fights don't end with a stupid ring-out. Walled stages are just more fun.
I want a new LH. I want JS BF :B+K: :B: to be a LH that pops the enemy back up and toward her for a cool combo starter. If you land JS BF :B+K: as a counter-hit, and the enemy is stunned on the ground, then the second hit would be a LH. That would actually make Tira's BF :B+K: :B: a really good...
So, once again maining Tira is an exercise in getting dumped on. No wonder Violet moved onto Seong Mina. Might do the same, tbh. Well, at least they didn't nerf her into the ground like SC5. It's just such a shame. The character with the most interesting and diverse fighting style just doesn't...
I can't help but wonder if Tira's Soul Charge glitch is connected to SCV, where you could use EX attacks using half of a charge. How much of this game is recycled code? Probably a lot more than we think, considering how small a budget the developers were given.
Does Tira feel really underpowered, or is it just me? She doesn't have the long range of some characters, she doesn't have high damage, or many mix-ups. Where does Tira excel at all? She has lots of lows, but only one can be combo'ed off of (1K, 4K). She feels slow, weak, and unsafe on so many...
Yes! This is exactly what I wanted to find. So, the answer to an aggressive Nightmare is to go EVEN MORE AGGRESSIVE! I'll have to practice my pokes some more.
My main problem with Nightmare is his ridiculous range. On most stages, it feels like the match starts while I'm already in Nightmare's optimal range. I play Tira, so I'm always trying to get in and he's always backing away from me. Nightmare's speed is a little too fast for his damage output...
