How did I not post in this sooner?
About two months ago, I got a Dreamcast and Soul Calibur. The missions were lots of fun and I give the game a solid 10/10; the first I've given to any game in many years.
Pretty sure Tira is a hopeless matchup. She has all of Ezio's speed, but more of his range. Her mixups put him in a lethal position, and there's nothing you can do to counterattack.
Truth be told, I haven't played SC5 in a while. I think I'm gonna go for an achievements run and I'm done.
SC1 has all my love, now. I bought a Dreamcast and it's my new favorite toy.
The first one. Excellent set of modes, great fluid visuals, and awesome controls.
SC2 was my first and still my next favorite, but over the years, I lost interest. I somehow feel there's something about SC1 that just pulls everything together.
I have problems with 3 characters: Mitsurugi, Z.W.E.I., and Viola.
Mitsurugi has great range and speed. I can't punish him on block, but he can punish me.
Z.W.E.I. has great priority overall. Even when I'm close, he can get the first strike. His mixups are also good.
Viola has combos...
I've been a player since Soul Calibur II came out (Link). Keeping steady with V, I discovered the original and only wish they had online and the mission mode in the XBLA version. Anyway, nice to meet you all. I'm on GameFAQs as HeroicSomaCruz and Zero_Saber_X and on Tekken Zaibatsu and...
I got the XBLA and iOS versions of SC1, and it is amazing. Great, fluid fighting, and has this nostalgic feel; it's like playing SC2 for the first time all over again. I don't know why, but I feel the series has moved from this direction, and I can't explain it. SC1's charm is really good, but...
1) Pick Nightmare
2) Enter Night Side Stance (B+K)
3) Continue hitting A (Soul Biter), holding A in the process to remain in the stance.
The enemy will be locked in a defensive position and rarely attempt an attack. This will allow you to eat up time and defeat the A.I. through time-ups. Hope...
