He's got other stuff he can use, and it's not like 22B is completely useless now. It just means we gotta actually learn to use all his stuff well before we make up our minds. Until the patch came out 90% of Raph play was identical i.e. how to land 22B 3 times to win a round.
It's always better to nerf the few glaring overpowered moves/mechanics/characters rather than to buff everyone else and throw a largely balanced game into total chaos.
Yeah frame transitions apply the same way to his Prep moves as do any other move.
I personally think this is the strongest version of Raph yet, but due to other characters getting more/less he's pretty much still in mid-tier as far as this game is concerned.
Xiba is awesome, I've been playing him since day 1 whenever I'm not working on Raph and he's the complete opposite by design. He's the one who just throws good stuff out there and puts pressure on the opponent to figure it all out, whereas Raph should only hit specific buttons at specific times...
Since it's a local tournament I play against the same people and they generally know everything my character can do after week 1, and against that kind of knowledge it's hard to force Prep even on hit, that's why I take my guaranteed damage against most of them.
Yeah you either know how to control every second of every round to the best of your ability or you fall behind real fast in so many ways in this game. Also gdlk avi.
You mean like spending time in training mode countering Ivy's 1B BE with B+K and then missing your chance during game 3 of a best out of three tournament set, after which you have to win by breaking her guard with 6BB BE because she messed up her counter too? One day I'll play this character...
