The way I played Mitsu, Yoshi does it better. I like spacing and poking and all, but I really like limiting options with frame traps and almost-frame-traps. All I would get was 2As, 6B8s, and 6As and other pokes. Yoshi has so many great interrupt options and CH iMCF is so rewarding....
Those characters were never really for me, I just started out with them and ended up having to stick with Sophie in IV. I never mained a sword and shield character in V.
The backdash nerf made Yoshi much more viable, I felt the power the shifting toward aggression, and Yoshi can bully a defensive and non-committal player like no other.
Yup... and I have the execution to play him like nobody else. Mitsu felt braindead... decision making is too easy and unrewarding. But I'll still keep him in my back pocket just in case my execution is off point and I want to slow things down.
