I'm using wired connection to both consoles :O checked my settings but still (!) so much lag, time outs, and just a bad performance by the PS3 in general xD like super long loading menus and such.

i've owned my ps3 since release, and i own an xbox slim, and i cant say i've ever noticed either of those issues your talking about. try port forwarding your router for your ps3 - wired wont matter if its not set up properly and you still need to go through the same steps as if you were wireless.

as for slow loading, i own multiple copies of alot of the same games for each console, and i cant say i've noticed any difference in load speed unless they are installed to the HDD, in which case they both load about the same anyways. if by slow loading you mean hanging on the XMB menu occasionally, then yea that happens from time to time, but the games themselves all load the same.

hanging in the xbox home menu also occurs, its just less frequent.

The Xbox menus lag like fuck. Not in the games but the menu tabs when you first turn it on and the massive delay when you press the guide button most of the time.

oh do you mean that giant delay when you first turn on your xbox? i think thats just the xbox360's modified windows OS taking a long time to boot up.

Not the boot. Try opening the Xbox guide while playing a game. Sometimes it has a pretty bad delay. This depends on the game but it can go up to a 5 second delay. >.<

oh well ps3 has that too. its because its trying to do that AND run the game at the same time. thats just a flaw of current gen consoles.

well except for maybe the wii.

PS3 has less of a delay though from my experiences.

perhaps. it depends. it is usually ok except for certain times when you are using ps3 text chat, when it really lags like a MF

Occasionally the Xbox will "freeze" so I press the guide button to see if it's really frozen. What I've learned having it for years is if it makes the guide sound it isn't frozen. It will unfreeze, eventually. Wether that takes 30 seconds or 5 minutes is pretty damn random. Lol

the way you do it with a ps3 is you hold the home button down. if it takes you to the power/cotroller screen, its not frozen. otherwise there is no way to tell except by waiting. or if you're loading something and the loading clock is spinning, its not frozen. but if the hand stops moving, its frozen.

Only way to tell on Xbox is the guide button. Lol
If you hear no sound it is frozen.

Might just be something wrong with the PS3 hardware. I didn't buy it all new from factory. Q_Q hell no I'm not buying a fresh one

To bad. I've seen/experienced PS ppl having trouble with their console. Friends of mine still have PS even though they stopped working, lagging etc. maybe it's just cus I'm Swedish? Idk lolol

could be that. its a common thing here too - not many people in the world treat their stuff with care period.
