Time For A Test! The Grøh General Discussion Thread

So some new stuff, obviously the patch notes provide the notations and experimenting will have to be done in the real game, but here's a few things I've noticed. 66AA doesn't knockdown anymore, but still remains a natural combo and still grants some nice frame advantage on hit. For knockdowns...

Just to let you know, the second row in the red column are new moves for that specific character.

    Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Pretty significant downward tweaks for Azwel. Cassandra's 1A+G getting a downward tweak. Groh seems to have a quite a few tweaks to his Avenger Stance and Steed of the Night. That's about all I can see right now. Will have to take some time to translate it (though, I imagine others here...

    Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

It looks as though all her old Level 3 Charge Combo strings have been moved into Soul Charge Strings. And there's clearly some evidence that her charge attacks can be held indefinitely or at least are trigger through specific inputs (ala SC6 Cassandra). She appears to have a command throw...

    Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

After some close and repeated watching of the trailer, my best educated guess is that her charge attacks will work like Cassandra's. Specific attacks will charge up sword and spear attacks and certain move inputs will require a certain level of charge. The only other possibility is that Hilde...

    Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Hilde looks good, but why the form-fitting plate armor? Either way, it looks like Hilde's old charge attacks now have visual cues (red for A attacks and blue for B attacks). Curiously, I wonder if the attacks will still require holding buttons or if they've managed to find some way of...

    Tekken 7 is a thing...

Leroy Smith is a brand new character with a brand new fighting style that resembles Northern Shaolin Kung-fu. It is likely he is a replacement for Wang, but we'll see. He's definitely not a Montero.

    Cassandra General Discussions and Impressions

Cassandra seems to have a pretty good throw game. In addition to her crouch throws, air throw and standard throws, she also has two (more like three) throws that charge up Divine Force. 64A+G, her back throw, and her crouching back throw. Best of all, these don't require additional inputs like...

    Cass combo thread

So I've found that most any launcher Cass initiates can be followed up with a Divine Force combo. So this means that things like 6BA+B, 2BA+B, among others are really good for simple combos with a lot of damage applied for what is really simple combos.

    Cassandra General Discussions and Impressions

66A still tech crouches and still tracks really well. b6 still good WS K WS A+B is old 44B and still has the tech crouching properties, launches too. 236B still a solid punisher, still punishable, though. 3AK still feels solid BK, pretty solid poke, still. 8AK. Still feels good, fast and...

    Cass combo thread

The penultimate combo on your tweets with the CE finisher is wasteful meter given you're dealing 0 damage at the point due to scaling.

    Cassandra General Discussions and Impressions

1A was never safe, 8AK used to be 11AK and was safe way back in SC2. Still has the move, but not really safe anymore. Anyway, it doesn't matter too much about Cassandra's safety, damage is good, mixups are good, nice pokes and NCs. All in all, very solid.

    Cassandra General Discussions and Impressions

So coming right out of the gate, Cassandra is impressively strong. A lot of new moves and some old ones on new inputs. Still has her old 1K and 1A, but also has a new 1B that when held and the opponent is on the ground leads to some good stuff. Basic theory is charging up her Divine Force...

    Amy General Discussion and findings

aGIs guarantee damage after the deflection. Manual GIs don't. Use aGIs to interrupt strings and foreseable attacks.

    Amy Combos

Overall, Amy's damage is really low, and depending on the scaling, she WILL end up do 0 damage on some moves. Even with RPP and WPP at max, her overall damage is pretty low. The good news is, she's got a lot of frame advantage and can link into a lot of good stuff once you figure it out...

    Amy General Discussion and findings

Post your impressions here. Overall, roses seem to be key to big damage and options. There's no real way to tell whether you've maxed out on roses or not, but just going by the colors, there's definitely a max level (purple color).
