If the legal aspects were not finished, they wouldn't have been able to even reveal him. He is probably already halfway done, but you cannot truly expect them to show him off at this stage, he wasn't even scheduled to be ready now.Look at it this way, it's only November and we already have half of the season 2 characters revealed. Although, that's not really saying much because we have no clue where they are at with Haohmaru. The legal aspects of that probably haven't even been fnished yet.
I think Setsuka is the one character who might as well be a lock. I'll be extremely surprised if she's not the third slot. The biggest question mark is the fourth character. I think it's Yun-Seong but it could easily be someone like Hwang or Lizardman instead. To be honest guys I was expected Hilde, but not so early! I expected first Hwang or Yun! BTW I'm so anxious about Setsuka! @DanteSC3 is right, their DLC plan for Season 2 is female(Hilde), male(Haou Maru), female(Setsuka) (PLEASE GOD) and male(Hwang or Yun) This Season Pass is the ideal and my dream for the game! I hope to come true!
Again - if memory serves me right, they didn't use those bulky wings from the picture, those were most probably a cermonial ones. They may have used some other ornaments that would be way more practical and safe.Apparently some historians do debate if those wings were used in battles or not, but to me it looks like yes is a much more probable answer than no here.
There are many old painting from the time period depicting winged hussars fighting with their wings on, those paintings are historical evidence, I don't see how they can be simply dismissed.

And so on.
This also leaves a door open for Algol as well.
I know this site is dedicated to the topic of boob armours, but I'm gonna be rude and change the topic to something else for a second.
Does anyone have any theories as to how they've changed the Hilde charge system? There are some big hints in the trailer as to how it works now, but it's difficult to say with 100% certainty what the new system is like.
First of all, here's a link to the trailer (which will be useful as I'll be mentioning a bunch of timestamps):
It looks like they've added an effect indicating if the weapons have been charged. For instance, at 0:58 you can see her sword is glowing red while the spear is glowing blue. She then does a fancy sword attack which removes the red glow, and then a fancy spear attack which removes the blue glow.
There's a more interesting moment in the trailer. At 0:47 Hilde has a glowing sword and does a jumping slash with the sword which causes a lethal hit. Immediately afterwards, she does an attack which has the same animation as the charge 3 A move from SC4 and SC5 (and it loses the charge afterwards). So it seems you can use a non-charge A move while your sword is charged, something you couldn't do in 4 or 5.
Another interesting moment is at 1:09. It looks like she activates soul charge and it immediately charges both sword and spear. And then she does a couple of moves which uses up the charge (she's still glowing afterwards, which I'm pretty sure is due to soul charge).
So, we can conclude a couple of things:
It makes me wonder if they've changed how you charge up the weapons to begin with. Maybe they've removed the mechanic with holding down A and B to charge up the weapons. Maybe it works in a similar way as Cassandra's Divine Force where you build up the charge by doing specific moves, and then you use up the charge with specific input.
- Weapons now glow indicating they're charged. Red for sword, and blue for spear.
- You can do normal A attacks without spending the sword charge (this would also mean you don't need to keep A held down to keep the charge).
- Soul Charge instantly charges up sword and spear.
Anyone have a different theory as to how it could work now?
It does kinda make sense. When you think about it, other than Hwang and Setsuka, Hilde has the most vocal fanbase. She's likely the most well known to the wider fanbase, and that means she has the widest appeal. People generally prefer waifus, so that gives and incentive to buy the character, not to mention Haomaru. We have two good sellers, a fairly popular character, as well as a guest, to draw more people in. A curveball like Hilde also makes us think about these kind of things, the wider fanbase mostly talked about Hilde being in S3, so the curveball of her being the first reveal makes people talk. She is also arguably the most widely appealing character other than Haoh, as she is a character that is seen as appealing, and her gameplan is not as difficult as Setsuka's, so it makes sense to draw people in with her.I'll feel trolled.
But in all honesty I wouldn't be surprised at the same time, Hilde was... Awkward timing...
I expect Season 2 to honestly be
Algol, and Lucius now.
Hilde genuinely has me lost. She seemd so early S3 or late S2 to me.
I'm confused.
Your mistake, as well as the rest of us Hwang believers, was underestimating the power of waifuism. The waifus will always win. Which also supports the idea that Algol has no chance, let alone Hwang or Yun-seong, or even Lucius, as much as we would love to see him get some love. I would put more stock in Maelys than Lucius.I'll feel trolled.

Well, she is grey... but the real question would be if they’re willing to pay for her copyrights. I would approve of this plan, however, because if we are destined for waifus, then we could do far worse than Ashlotte. Besides that, she’s a canon automaton.Ashlotte? Please?
