Algol and Edge Master

I found it interesting that there's unique dialogue between these two, in particular, Algol's KO quote when he loses a round, in which he says "Brings back memories." In what manner could these two immortal characters be acquainted?

Don't underestimate Edge Master. He knows various weapon styles, unlike that bubble using hack.

Algol has the ability to make blade protrude from any part of his body (Including Soul Edge and Soulcalibur), he can fly, teleport, summon a throne, and use projectiles. Also, SC4 says that he can attack his opponents very soul.

Edge Master on the other hand, has extreme fighting prowess and can transform into a malfested-like being which would enhance his power even further.

It's a tough call but it seems a bit skewed in the Hero King's favor.
