Are Soul Edge and Soul Calibur fused?^

In the new trailer it seems like they are fused. If you look how SC is looking and how Sould Edge is looking you can see that the shape and the handle is exact the same.

What do you think happened to them after SCIV
 
Fused implies they've become one sword.

Maybe, just maybe, since you've posted this thread you've watched the teaser a few more times to realize
there are still two swords.
 
They do sometimes fuse though... though only momentarily. You can see this in the into to SC4 (end of SC3) as the Soul Calibur gets stabbed into the Soul Edge, you can see the "tentacles" from the Soul Edge start to encompass the Soul Calibur. This fuse is called the "Soul's Embrace".
 
I think the trailers just saying, "Even though Soul Calibur shattered Soul Edge, it came back."

I can see where you would get that though.
 
Soul Edge: takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Just has to spend a game or two letting a bunch of goons run around with shards so it can reform.

Basic Yin and Yang theory. Soul Edge can not die, while Soul Calibur still exists.
 
Well Soul Edge existed before Soul Calibur ever did. So an unbalanced universe is possible.

Also, Soul Calibur already flirted with the darkness once. Remember the "evil" Soul Calibur Xianghua could use?
 
So wait, what the hell is the Broken Destiny Sword then? I thought that sword was the combined Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. I'm" probably wrong up the ass, but then again this was an assumption.
 
I thought so to. They were probably going to create a story of the swords merging again, but I think they ran out of resources and they end up having no story in BD.
