attack range for creations

are nightmare and astaroth the only character that have longer attack range than their creation counterparts?

I checked and saw that xiba and mitsurugi both are higher than height 3 and 4 female customs, but their attack range remains the same despite the slight height difference

astaroth is in his own height class, and nightmare has those enhancements, what about the other characters?

Tell me, what's the point of this thread? Is it about finding out about the height hitbox stuff for every character? If so, CAS always tend to have weird hitbox issues. No matter what character is for.

My thing is this, what are you after? Pardon the questions.

ah, just realized casual board has a topic for discussing creation mode.

I was just wondering which created characters would have absolute disadvantage if I make them use the wrong style. I am considering whether to give them the same proportions as the 1P/2P/3P through other means.

Ivy cas can get the smaller hitbox and still have same range.
And Violas CAS have more chance of losing orb fpe

ah ok, I am not sure what do you mean by losing orb now. does this mean custom creations somehow gets hit more often because of bigger hit box or something?

Viola has a weird glitch where if you a cancel a recall with another recall when she is transition into ORB I think, the orb will fly away and circle the stage and you will have to fight without the orb. I've noticed it occurs more with CAS characters.

..... FUCK, I didn't know THAT could happen! I read through all the general discussion pages for viola and no one mentioned that! arrgh! I mean sure futurestar mk2 made a video about that, but I thought that wasn't permanent.

nah it lasts next round, I've had it happen a few times at the beginning of rounds, and without the orb she has no BEs or CE, but she is still playable.

It's a lot of work to figure out all the glitches and hitbox issues of 5 heights of 25 characters. If it were me, CAS is absolute barbie doll show-off and 1P/2p edits are for when you want to get serious. However, if you're proposing figuring out hitbox issues stuff then best of luck making a list of info.

It usually helps to be in the hardcore stuff like frames and all that jazz so it can make it easier to which character whiffs due to height.

but through other means, it's possible to simply transfer all of 1P/2P height data onto custom creations so all the limb lengths are the same as official characters. it's only worth doing if I know which style need that correction.

btw, just to be certain, making an obese creation does not affect his hit box, right? do the body part sliders do anything other than visual appeal?

are you saying that even 3P models are inaccurate representation of 1P/2P? I know they have the same limb length data, but I don't know whether that's the only thing that defines the hit box of a character.

I don't think aesthetics like fat and built people, special equipment people really affects. I think more of the height that is the problem. I could be wrong, but then I'm too lazy to go out and research hitbox issues. Hence I just use 1p recolor edits or dress up Leixia as Asuka Kazama and call it a day.

huh, I think it's really just limb length data that determines the hit box. I was able to make a female creation that uses nightmare's exact limb length, and she was able to grab and hit at the same range using Drake Aldan's test method. same hit box too.

for eg, both are able to grab each other by doing 6 empty grabs and connect on the 7th grab.
