ATX: Put Up or Shut Up Results 10/24/09

Brandon: Now you know to test shit out the night before so you don't have problems. Great idea and all, but 2 machines would have made it run much faster and smoother.

Overall, I would still give the tourney an A-, thought it was ran fast, organized and competition was really good. Some major upsets but shit happens haha.

SBG: JD said a long time ago he was not able to come. Don't lump him in with other Pasadena people who talk all kinds of shit and don't show to back it up. Like I said, whoever comes from now on, they come and that's it.

Can't wait for T6. HYPE!

Yeah we had every intention of having two machines to run Calibur but we dropped the ball. We honestly thought it was just a very easy hookup and we didn't test it because of that. That was our bad. Next time all the machines will already be pre-wired for direct capture so we won't have to worry about any of this. Fubar is going to use the prize money to set that up as well as having flat screens on the walls to view matches for tournaments. Things will be MUCH better for our next tournament in Feb '10. I definitely prefer the arcade atmosphere for tournaments too. Especially the Japanese style cabinets. They make for great match watching and hype! SOO many close matches in this tournament! Can't wait to get them up!

That's good to hear. I was kind of mad about not getting in any casual matches. It worked itself out though, since there were so many intense matches that having only one setup forced everyone to watch. I want to pick up Tekken 6 so that the next time I play it at a tournament for fun I at least don't get raped brutally.

CW, Nori, Jim, Rob, Brandon, you're all cool guys, hope to see you again soon.

Oh yeah, Alpha Male is just too godamn beastly.

WTF Nori?! 9th? And tied with CW at that? Fail

Alphamale doing big things I see. Good shit on winning.

Agustin were was this the last time I played you? Sandbaggin I see. Good shit.

CW i guess it's to be expected. At least Nori can't say he placed higher than you.

Actually, CW played better than I did this tourney. I expect this to get to his head, but he beat SA Rob and played extremely well against him. Nearly guessed right on everything Rob did. Me? I almost lost the first round to some horrid scrub, then won against another scrub easily, then got ass raped by Link 0-6, then lost to Batousai.

I played Kilik/Cass/Cervy/Asta. Don't ask me why, I regreted all of this after the tourney haha. It's ok, I played terrible one day, it usually doesn't happen but it is what it is.

Well i'm glad to say i got my ass HANDED to me at my first Tourny!! Was fun even still, Though in my defense it was also my first time playing on a ps3 controller... Turns out you should not just try to wing it. Oh well hope to practice more on a ps3 since these are all played on it. Oh and the Austin in Austin, haven't heard that billions of times before lol!

Why wouldn't you use your main the whole time especially with the biggest names in SC Texas Scene?

meh, regardless. I played stupid, and i know i did. I don't wanna say i deserved the place i got, but for the time being, i accept the losses i did.

Thanks everyone for coming and supporting the event. Our bad on not having two setups for SC4, bad planning on my part. Had the wiring I needed, just didn't have the time. Also, we were able to record every single match this way.

Anyway, next event will be even better as every machine will be pre-wired for direct capture and we'll have HDTVs on the walls for your viewing pleasure!

Matches are being upped to youtube:

My connection is super slow, I'll go back to uploading tonight. Everything ought to be up by tomorrow.

Oh, S-U, sorry, but I used zero Setsuka. I decided to use the event to see how rusty Ivy had gotten instead. I might be going to NEC though, so we can compare there if you're still interested.

Like BBoy said, this is the correct link for the vids:

There were ALOT of good matches at this tournament. Definitely watch the vids cause they're good. The level of competition was high and several matches could have gone either way as you will see from the vids.

Good games to everyone. It was good seeing y'all again. Nice venue.

CW: GGs man. I'd stick with Amy.

Hey I didn't even know that was you that entered! Why didn't you tell us you were HolyCrap? Don't worry about losing in your first tournament. It happens to everyone. I'll try to get some games in with you this week. We'll get you sick at this game. Just stick with it.
