C2 & C3: Playstyle Discussion

Do a lot of you Hilde players release C2s, or do you prefer to hold for C3s? Of course, it varies often, but I find myself shifting between very different styles against opponents. A lot of times, I always use C2s, stabbing constantly, and only rarely doing C3s. Sometimes though, I always save my charges for C3s and rarely end up getting C2s.

Thoughts? Comments? Discussion?

Varies incredibly on how the battle goes. I just hold my charges and fight normally, and keep in mind what charges I have so i know they are options.
Hell, sometimes I fight without even charging B(well, i'd still hold it because theres no reason not to)..she has a lot of different playstyle options.

C3A is better. Advantages over C2AA

-leads to C2BB C2AA
-Auto GI's b's
-Tech Crouches
-Gives I believe one more frame on block

So overall I tend to use C3A, however C2AA is still a good move so I don't neglect it at all. Niichts got it right pretty much, just charge and keep a mental clock on what you have. Keep your options open.

I use more C3B's (crouch and normal) than I do C2B's, but I've been working more FC C2B's in as a high punisher.

My problem is that I often find myself just getting C2s, even though I swear it's about 5 seconds since I started using that move. Maybe the buffer hits late or maybe I let up just slightly in the middle of a guard, but then I just fall into using C2s since it doesn't make sense to wait against some of the more offensive opponents I play against.

So, do you vary your charge levels depending on your opponent? Or you vary them depending on how YOU play? I feel it doesn't make sense for me to hold charges against an offensive opponent if I can stab him with a C2, rather than wait for my C3 B and do the combo.

Where's the C1 love? C1 on CH is also nice. C1A on CH can lead into a free CB if not shaken fast enough. C2A is great for slowing the tempo down and chipping at the gauge. If you land it, it gives range.
My advice is to not always look and wait for big damage. Hilde has a pretty decent move list (I wish more mids had good pushback), so incorporating moves into charge setups is really fun. For example, I love 7K because it retreats well (screw backdash), its fast, and can wall splat. Sprinkle in a wider than it looks C3B in and you got a filler for the gap created. 7K, C3B - my favorite. Personally I like to give that false illusion of safety to attack then throw out a charge move.

If you got a charge move that will hit, you might as well use it. I use CR C3B,B,A all the time for people that like to wait on the floor. Even if they stay down and I only get the hit of the 2nd B, it's better than nothing. I find that people rarely block the last hit of CR C3A,K,A . . . that's pretty much free damage if they see the B ender can launch.

I dont' think in a real battle you really have a choice to release C2 or C3s... You relesae them when there is an opening... any of them will give you advantage... Even though C2AA doesn't connect in terms of the C3A, C3B, C2BB but it still give you enough time to regroup.

Well, I use the As more in neutral or defensive situations and the Bs mostly to punish things (in an opening). Whatever I've got at the time is just what I work with. My issue (as mentioned in combo thread) would be C2B combos without charge. Any suggestions?

C3A is her best move man. I can't think of anything it doesn't do.

Does it aGI kicks? When I play against other Hilde players, I seem to have high success spamming fast mid kicks like Hilde's 6K or Setsuka's 3K. It consistently beats out all Hilde's charges, and I've never been GIed. I can't tell if that's because of the aGI properties or because the kicks are just that fast.

doesn't auto gi kicks

do c3A really give a higher advantage than a C2A on blocks??? it always looks visually that opponent recover slower after blocking a C2A than C3A... maybe is just that blue electricity....
