CaS Equipment Request Thread

Norik

[14] Master
There is an excellent thread about what technicalities of the character creation mode we want added/improved. The idea behind this thread is to complement that other thread by talking specifically about the pieces of equipment we would like them to add through either DLC or in future games.

So let's get straight to it. I think that SCV went in the right direction in terms of equipment. Even though most the the good stuff is way too bulky and plain, the themes shifted towards a more realistic and less WoW-ish atmosphere that better represent the feel of the series. I particularly like the historical DLC expansions (Gothic German armor with the round sallet, Greek armor, full samurai outfit, etc), and I think they could very easily expand on that. There could also be some more variety of fantasy stuff if not overdone like the siren armor.

This post will serve as an index as things are requested.

And I don't mean those silly animal heads, I mean real battle helmets with animal motifs.

When we finally got a crown, we got a cheesy big crown with puffy cloth all over it. Lame. This is a fighting game, people fight. Our characters should be dressed appropriately.

It'd be particularly great for it's customisation abilities. Sometimes, less is more.

Oh sure you can /make/ one using ExEq, but why waste my limited accessory slots when P.S could just give us one? Fabulous flowing flap and all!
I'm surprised we don't have more of these. I've always wanted a pointy bascinet for my main character, and there are just so many different varieties we should at least have two or three.

The classiest and most recognizable helmet ever made, the centurion is an icon of wealth and power. We have great Greek helms, but not Roman ones.

The Sci-Fi theme has become very popular among CaS artists. They should get some real mech stuff.

The typical nobleman helmet during the late 15th century, fits perfectly with the time frame.

The most widely used military headgear for hundreds of years (specially during the early middle ages).

SCV already has it, but the variety given is rusty, plain, and geometric, limiting the possible uses. I would like a second variety, more lustrous and ornate. A third variety with an attached turban as seen in many paintings of the third crusade would also be pretty cool.

I would like to see armor that is designed with the intent to be heavily customized, with support for stickers everywhere and textures that accessories can easily match to make altering the geometry via accessories work better.

I'd also like to see more armor with bits of cloth, akin to Patroklos' 2P or how many of the designs in Dienasty Warriors are becoming. Looks fantastic and those little bit of cloth add great potential for customization, they're begging for unique insignia and stuff :3

Oh, and it goes without saying I'm very greedy. I want it all >:)

I'd like to see more textured patterns. The scales, leather, and others show this would already be possible... I'd like to see wool, denim, some kind of coarse fabric... any and every texture they care to think of.

Also, unreleased stuff. Bah.

Whatever new equipment we see, I want it to be stuff that looks at least as good as the regular cast's wardrobe. SC3 and 4 were really good about this. While stickers and patterns can somewhat help, assuming the player knows a couple tips and tricks, a big majority of the non-DLC parts just look plain, which leaves customs heavily susceptible to Sturgeon's Law. Most DLC parts were good about being detailed, so more of that would be good.

Also, more parts from different themes and time periods would be good. Players' imaginations aren't limited to SB/C's universe, so it'd be nice to have equipment that allows those kinds of settings to be expressed. Office suits, robot power armor, sports jerseys, whatever you can think of. They could sucker all kinds of money out of me for that kind of DLC.

I wish they would keep a bit more of a theme going to what they intend to add into the mode. This isnt a Modern vs Medieval rant again but it's pretty fair to want more of an effort into putting emphasis on allowing characters to insert their characters into their time frame just for aesthetic purposes it just meshes better. Most other CAS based games give you content based on that idea. I mean WWE is about wrestling so the games give you 99% wresting clothing and props. Saints Row is about living on the streets or being rich so it gives you Street clothing or upper class attire. SC just seems to give you whatever first pops up on google. PS loves to give us ,illions of different types of underwear but in the end its still underwear. It would be nice if they used that thought process for diversifying clothing within the relevance of their game and treated CAS less like a SIMS game. Thats not to say I want more Armour, no. I just want more cultured clothing of the historial time frame because I play with my CAS wanting to feel included in their world. Basically they should make clothing based on what they would put their characters in. Then even if everything online is something ridiculousits atleas recignizable. (Dampierre Ridiculous not Wacky-Cooky riduclous.)If easier they should just gve us all their unused concept art clothing for bonus cas parts. They may not be the defined outfits but some of them I really like because the quality in design had the same respect as for the default costumes. I want them to start a (Past Pack System) Where they give you dlc packs of the character's past comes from the prequel for bonus content in the sequel. It seemed like they weould have if the SC4 Nightmare costume was actually obtainable...

I really... want more hairstyles (>*_*)
A few more variety of ponytails and long hair that has some different styled bangs. Or some more curly and wavy hair. But at this rate, I'll take any new hair styles for both the men and women. I'll even be happy if they sell us Tira's 2p hair without the weird bangs =O

I agree Donut, get rid of all of that conflicting shit, and bring everything from past soul games with every single clothing item, accessory, other stuff, and weapons, oh yeah, also include gear of any kind from the past, present, and future...Oh wait IV and V already did that, but hey, let the imagination run wild. :3

Or, preferably, let us modify individual features separately. That's really all I want and the only thing I think is really lacking. The rest is pretty good.

Oh, and voices too.

i'd like more modern items: pain button down long sleeved shirt, polo shirt, timberlands, saggy pants, cocktail dresses, sports jacket, sweater, sweater vest, bow-tie
