CaS Q&A: Quick questions, quick answers.

Apologies if considered Necro-Posting (double posting so it get's bumped rather than make a new thread), but I actually wanted to ask people:

The papery talisman extra that came with the shoulder cat - How big can I make it, and can it be patterned?

Yes, you can place a pattern on it. I'm using it on my Rock CaS. It's the center piece of his makeshift fauld (also at MAX size).

Why cant i see the formulas of the CAS i want to create?

I'm afraid you'd need to be more specific. Which CaS are you trying to make?

It's weird because it's Rock I was thinking of using it for as well. I wanted to update him but lacked anything to substitute the fauld - That looks perfect, thank you.

there are a lot of them, but i can only see the pictures, im not allowed to see the formula content or simply the user didnt put it?

cheers

You mean that you've seen CaS on this site that you'd like to make, but can't find the formulas? In that instance, it's likely the creator didn't post them, usually because they're such a hassle to write down.

However if you ask the creator, they might be happy to tell you~

I'm assuming you're talking about CaS pictures that have been posted on these forums. In that case, it's exactly because whoever made those CaS didn't post the formulas.

Even though the name of this sub-forum is "Create-A-Soul Formulas," people around here usually won't post formulas unless asked. Even if asked, some will and some won't. It just takes too much time to gather and organize all the information, especially when the design uses patterns, stickers, and special equipment. It's easier to post pictures that clearly show how all the parts are treated and arranged, perhaps with some text that briefly denote the design process. That way, people can just look at the pictures to get the information they might be looking for.

No, such a post doesn't exist sadly. Though most of the top CaS-makers are friendly enough, and likely more than willing to share :D

Otherwise known as, "What ThePascuzi Said" ;}D

I have shared some of my formulas, either in vid format (bruce lee, vampire) or in text format (which is the most boring exercise i ever made) like Columbus...
Have a look at my thread and happy digging if ur interested.

Looking at pics only helps if you are very proficient with all aspects of the editor, since recreating the exact same object placement / sticker / patterns isn't really easy on some intricate builds.

Funny enough, i actually offered several times to give formulas for CAS that got a lot of positive feedback, but nobody really took on the offer (happy me ;o)

ok, this is an odd question I think...So, I have seen certain CAS's with one colored eyes, meaning no pupil, just a solid color. does anyone have any idea how this is achieved?

You can sink an apple, or a ball, into the characters eye socket and colour it. The apple seems to be preferable because it has more shaping options, and that bit of detail.

if you are really good, you can even do that ;o)

i have a degree in eye creation in the CAS editor, i can do dead eyes, human eyes, beast eyes, bleeding blind eyes, praying mantis eyes, fly eyes, wasp eyes, ask away LOL...Le Bello bears witness as the eye of the beholder of my whole CASt of freaks...

Thank you guys! I'll do some playin' around, see what I can come up with!

Best of luck! As Vil himself states though, he is a MASTER of eye-morphing and adaptations. In fact I'd go so far as to say he's the king of anthropomorphism, so any time spent in his thread would be considerably well-spent.

But best of luck, I'm looking forward to seeing what you can up with.

Takes time to master special equipment use...once you have positioned the apple horizontally / vertically (apple is better for the eye because the ball cannot be shrunk enough to fit in the eye socker), start working on back/forward/depth/width to refine placement, then you can finetune using horizontal / vertical rotation...

it takes time, but you can achieve perfect results
