[Dallas, TX] Live it and Breathe it! (Check first post for info)

No you don't silly man. Eddy Pistons IMO has the best X, hands down. There are quite a few X players that are better my friend:)

Alright... So an announcement about Chris Gold is that after some situations that have occurred and some major thought, I have come to the conclusion that I will be removing myself from the "Scene" of Competitive Gaming. In all honesty, I have come to realize that no matter what I do I will not improve to the point that it matters and I am just going retire and disappear... Less emotion and less tension that way. I am going back to being a casual gamer to just enjoy the games.

Peace & Cheers,
Chris Gold

In all honesty, I have come to realize that no matter what I do I will not improve to the point that it matters...

That is your choice sir... If you feel this way then you are defeated before you even start... I have never told any of you that it is easy or that it isn't alot of work... In my opinion it's hard work, but it's also very rewarding... you make lots of friendships, you travel lots of places you would probably not see otherwise, and most of all you learn a lot about yourself and you grow as a person.

Looking back on the several times where I thought I would "retire"... It was mainly due to frustration because I wasn't doing as well as I thought I should... But what it really was is that I wasn't really thinking about what I was doing wrong nor was did I understand that IT IS A PROCESS. It takes time and many, many iterations and repetitions both physically and mentally to advance your skill in this shit... In retrospect I'm so glad that I stuck with it... I realize that I have many, many levels to advance, but thanks to my previous experience in progressing through the same struggles that you (and everyone else) goes through, I feel ready for the coming battles ahead... I will mash heads, I will get my head mashed, and I will DEFINITELY progress... and you will do the same if you choose to do so... But if you can't see your progression there's a problem... I definitely can't see it for u.

In any case, I think you are a good guy and a great friend to hang around with... If you ever want to come around you are more than welcome.

- I.C.E.

P.S. Actually... On another note, we are working on starting something around the time that Tekken 6 comes out where everyone will be able to reasonably compete with people on their level, regardless of where they are skill-wise.

Chris Gold: You really shouldn't give up. You should try to find a char that works for you. Fuck top tier, mid tier, low tier, whatever. You have to find a char that YOU are comfortable with and can beat your peers with. I honestly feel you are in one of the best cities for gaming. You have JOP/EP/Ice there, I find it hard to believe nobody will take the time to teach you and you aren't willing to learn. You are a competitor, you are automatically better than the people who play online and hide, who are too scared to go to offline tourneys.

I went to dallas one time in SC4 and JOP beat me so bad, I was about to quit. I had this conversation with Ice and EP while I was there. I'm glad I didn't give up, cause I finally won a tournament. Ice will always be my gaming nemesis, in every game. SC2, we went back and forth in tourneys. SC3, same. SC4, the one time we did play in tourney, he shit on me pretty bad. My point is, you have to keep challenging yourself and realize if the dallas crew thought you had no potential, they wouldn't waste their time. However, quitting, after all the time and energy put into you WOULD be wasting their time, and yours.

Take it from me Chris, don't quit. You'll regret it. Especially if you're going to still play games and hang out with the same folks. I didn't exactly quit SC4 in the beginning by choice, but SC3 I did and I still regret it cause of the good times I had with all these peeps playing SC2. Some of my best friends I met playing this game. It's well worth it, but only you can decide how much it is worth to you.

But please please PLEASE, whatever you do...DON'T START PLAYING WORLD OF WARCRAFT!

THAT GAME WILL TAKE YOUR SOUL!

Tell Chris Gold to not give up so easily. It takes time to get in the groove of things, just like Nori said find a character that fits your style. All you need to do is find a character you are 100% comfortable with and like. Dallas is a strong force to learn from, all great guys and maybe have some sessions where you ask not to play but to learn the game. B Boy was all like fuck Sc4 at first cause he sucked balls, but he found someone he likes to play with and is pretty decent now. Ice said something around you will miss out on fun times going to other cities to play. We had the chance to go out with SA and Dallas and it was fun, finally got to meet the men behind the names. Just saying don;t give up so fast it will take a bit. I agree with Btg for once and say don't play WoW man plz dont

I still say it but with love. =0)

Ice does have a point on the Tekken 6 thing. Something totally new. And you don't have to press a button to block! Woo Hoo!

In other news I will not be showing up anywhere over the next couple of weeks, due to an out of country guest at my place (Sorry about not making it wed Chrisgold, that's why). I'll try and jump back in as soon as I can though.

Alright Quick Update: Chris Gold decided to test his skills this weekend in Soul Calibur 4, 1 year from his very first SC4 tournament at AnimeFest. Chris Gold went from Last (Last Year) to 3rd in this years event losing to a very aggressive (I wasnt stepping fast enough) Asty and X_A's X... AMAZING!

Quick Edit: I completed the Chris Gold Special on every other opponent I played... The crowd loved every second of it!
