Greetings!!!!!

How generous of you!!! Giving back is always great. I went around your profile and it seems that your a new member so first WELCOME!!!!!!! YOU CAN OFFICIALLY CALL YOURSELF AN 8WAYRUNNER.

Since cassandra is not in soul calibur anymore the character i love using the most is nightmare. The Azure Knight wields the powerful Soul Edge. As you might know, his fighting style is greatly inspired by his previous host Siegfried. Instead of being stance base, he's more heavy, brutal and aggressive which matches perfectly the demonic power of Soul Edge. Nightmare is a really fun character to play with because you have to be somewhat patient and find openings in your opponents game. He might be slow and unsafe but in the right hands this monster can overcome anything you just have think outside the box sometimes which I'm really good at. So I'm on psn and add me: TerminatorCortez. Even if I don't win this challenge, I'd be glad to have you has a friend on my list because the fact that your giving back to the community for free is a respectful gesture.

Add me

First of all, I would like to say nice to meet you I have never officaly met you! And I have psn my user name is edmund789 (i sold my 360)

My favorite character to use in SCV is Ivy. Ivy's quick and has safe moves that can be unpredicatble lows or high punishes. She combos great with her 6b(cancel)8 and she has become user friendly. Her command throws are amazing to watch over and over especailly calamity symophy (which is spelt horribly wrong). Ivy also has enticing outfits which can distract me and my opponent sometimes. Ivy's accent is also as well enticing. Ivy's weapon being both a whip and a sword is a unique concept and her throws are what make her up. IMO. But, I think Ivy has always had a special place in my heart as being of the most diffcult characters to learn up until now where she is increadibly easy to use.

In soul the previous soul caliburs I would always use Talim because of her childish personality and that she was the most unique style. I thought that her diety was not only interseting and a well fit, but also a nice mix that would have been good to see revamped in SCV, however I still got SCV in hopes that she would be DLC in someway shape or form.

Hope you pick me :)

It´s really kind, thanks.

My favourite character to use in SCV is Pyrrha since she is so sweet and cute, and she´s an Alexandra, family of Cassandra, who is my favourite character of all the series.

I´m a Xbox 360 user.

This is very cool of you to do, just saying that right now.

Well, so far in SC5 it's really hard to say who my favorite character is. I was a Taki player for the whole of the series (except Soul Blade); so naturally I started using Natsu when I first booted up the game the first time. I do really enjoy using Natsu, but then all the Natsu hate began to catch on and I was sick of getting booted from rooms and people rage quitting because I was winning with her. I then decided to start playing Viola because she was one of the truly new characters I was looking forward to using because of her unique style. I enjoy her a lot because it's all about finding holes in people's defenses and then just pecking away at them non-stop. I like that she's the kind of character you have to constantly be pushing with in order to be successful. Sadly, that also leads to getting kicked for being a "spammer". *sigh* Such is life I suppose.

Right now I'm just anxiously awaiting the day when I can get Dampierre on my 360 so I can get booted out of rooms because of him as well. haha Sadly, it's going to be 3 weeks before I will be able to do so as I am currently unemployed and don't have any means of purchasing him. Also, I really don't want to buy $20 worth of Microsoft points just to buy a $5 character...if that's how much he costs.

Anyway, here's hoping I win! haha

Thanks for doing this again.

P.S. Did I mention my birthday is coming up? :-D

P.P.S XBOX 360 user if that wasn't already clear.

X360 owner here! My favourite character to use is Mitsurugi.

The reasons are pretty simple - he's a samurai, he's got a badass attitude. And not to mention I love katanas. That was what sucked me in as I started my SOULCALIBUR career couple of years back.

His playstyle also suits me to a T - he is a very flexible character, being able to use spacing and zoning to good extent, and with his strong Mids (e.g. 33_66_99B, 4KB) (even more dangerous against a wall) and lows (e.g. new 2K BE B in V), which enables you to rush and unleash his mixup potential on the opponent.

In addition, his couple of good poking moves (e.g. 6B series) - which and prove useful against, say, impatient players - safe when guarded, advantage upon hit.

Also, his stances add more variety to how he fights. Though lately this has changed with him retaining only MST, he is still considered very strong in other aspects of the gae.

Being a straightforward character to use and play (yeah, I dont tend to think too much) - excellent pokes, great mixup game - is what I love about the sole SC samurai in the series.

P.S. KAAAAATS!

Hi there nice person. My favorite character in this game is Elysium because I am not especially good with any character, but somehow I get lucky with her. The amazing Critical Edge and the resemblance to Sophitia helps too. I suppose that I don't actually need the DLC character, but I was hoping to get a friend one as a gift (he is a Viola player on PS3).

You got lots of people on begging knees, and that's me included.

I'm somewhat new to the game. I played SCII, but just now took it as a competitive game. As for my favorite character, that's a bit tough on my side. I've been kind of soul searching (oh, the punny irony) on which character I should used. I played Alpha for a week, but I could not just figure him out. As of now, I'm practicing with Pyrrha. Although, if you meant favorite character as in their place in the story, definitely Tira. She's maniacal. I like maniacal.

Anyway, that's about it. Wonderful little thing you're doing, and best of luck to everyone else.
Oh, and PS3.

A NEW CHALLENGER APPEARS (a new beggar appears xD). I'm playing on PS3, but this is only an Info for you.

I LOVE Playing Xiba. He is one of my Favorite Characters, because of his fighting style. I Love it, to have a fairly good range, but be able to do pressure on your enemy with fast attacks. Yesterday, I've spent around a Hour in the Character Editor to get him a good looking Style (I want my old Kilik back :( ) and after that, I've spent around an Hour in Training and FastGame Mode to get a view on his Skills :) It is really nice, what combo options Xiba has. All those Special Defence Moves (this ones with the Green Flash xD) are fancy :) They aren´t secure, if i get that right, but your Enemys don´t know what is coming after that one :D After putting my SCV CD in my PS3, I've first looked for the known Characters, like Mitsurugi, Maxi and Cervantes. But my Kilik was missing. So I've played a bit with a friend till I stept over Xiba. He is now my new Kilik and I like him a lot.

In Addition: Evil Monkey wan´t you to give me this Key xD

Greetings, pr1mus (sorry for my sloppy English)

Hey! You're too generous! I have a PS3 and I love Dampiere's style and design! So if I win, thank you very much in advance :D

I have always been a huge Disney fan, and always felt sympathy for those rebel princesses, dying to find out what's out there in the world, fighting whoever got in their way and pursuing their dreams.

A mermaid who left everything and risked her own freedom to meer her love, a smart lady who fell in love with a beast, an arabian princess who trusted a thief...

Due to this, and her beautiful flowerish outfit, I love Leixia!! She ran away from her palace to meet adventure. She's a rebel, she's fun to play and she is Xianghua's daughter!!

Can't wait to know more about her adventures in next games!

My reaction when I see this thread :

Hey fr0st you're too kind!
I have a x360, for SCV my mains are Tira, Ezio and Natsu. But I'm best confortable with Tira.
Dampierre was one of my mains for SC:BD but I couldn't pre-order the game, so if I win this I'll be very happy!

Among my mains in SCV, Pyrrah is probably my favorite.

The reasons are pretty simple :
The Alexandra sisters have always been my mains besides Ivy but my most favourite used to be Sophitia, a gorgeous and brave girl with a strong story and a very intuitive and simple yet effective style.
If I had to recommend a character to a novice, Sophitia would definitely come first.

Then sadly, Sophitia was killed (which saddened me a lot, her SCIV story was very heartbreaking and I was hoping it would end well for her) but her daughter, Pyrrah, took on her style....with her own touch.

Gameplaywise, I really welcome this because while her style retains most of her mother's moves, it's also unique in her own way with some differences there and there, some new moves her mother didn't have and different animations so that style I used to love was renewed and felt very fresh which is something I appreciated a lot and found interesting.

Storywise, her story is very touching and sad at the same time because of how ill-fated she's been. She has IMO the best scenes in the story mode.
But despite all the atrocities Tira made her went through, she still managed to stay kind-hearted and brave, willing to sacrifice herself many times to save her brother.
The scene where she parries Nightmare was badass, same for when she manages to hold Soul Edge without turning malfested anymore to save her brother from Soul Calibur.
And the ending with her brother.........aww, I thought I was gonna cry ;_;

BTW, I'm a PS3 player and I think you're very kind for this offer, especially since you're a new member in here. You rock dude and we need more people like you in the world.

Thanks for all the fantastic input guys! would just like to say that I will be announcing the winners this coming sunday at 1pm GMT time; and will contact them via the forums here and arrange a way to send over the codes, so thanks again for everyone participating and keep the posts coming!

I did receive a message earlier today, and I think there mite be some confusion that I will clear up... the DLC is still up for grabs. I have not closed the contest yet, so anyone can still go for it! However all entries must be posted before 12:30pm (GMT) 04/03/2012 (that's this sunday for our colonial cousins) and as I mentioned previously, I will then announce the 3 winners at 1pm (GMT) Thanks again, and good to get this cleared up if there was some confusion!

Hiya. Pretty cool of you to be doing this, honestly. I'm sure the winners will appreciate it a lot!

I'm Ugg, and I've gone by that pseudonym since as long as I've been a part of any sort of online forum/community etc. (I actually came up with it by accident, haha.) I don't really have much of a history, I guess. You could probably call Soul Calibur 2 my first actual fighting game experience (if you dismiss Smash Bros. 64. Those were some fuuun times.) I fell in love with it, and mostly just played it with a couple of local friends and siblings, being so young. I really liked Necrid, quite fun stuff. Link, too. I couldn't resist playing Link, y'know, growing up in a childhood massively influenced by Nintendo. I'll be frank, I'm not EXTREMELY familiar with the story of Soul Calibur, I mainly choose characters base off of how they play, not who they are. That's just me, though. To each their own. Soul Calibur 3 eventually rolled by, and I picked that up as well. I just sifted through a ton of characters; I never had a real main. That's usually the case in all fighting games I play, I just can't decide on one character to stick with. SCIV was announced, and I didn't bother picking it up, to be honest. The Star Wars characters and such just looked too tacky for me, so I just forgot about the Soul Cal series for a while and went on to play other mainstream fighters. A few years later and SCV's announced, and I was ecstatic/blasted with nostalgia. I basically blocked Soul Cal from my memory and hadn't thought about it in ages, so I was very excited for what looked like a huge improvement over the previous iteration in the Soul Calibur series. Here I am today, and I still can't decide on a main for this game, hah. That's why I'd like to have Dampierre in SCV - I pre-ordered SCV Collector's Edition, but sadly not from BestBuy, which yielded no Dampierre code. I'd like to try out Dampierre just to play around with him, and who knows, maybe I'll end up really liking him.

Thanks for taking the time to read this story/journal entry-esque post, lol. Congratulations to the winners!

I'm also on Xbox, just for the record.

This is pretty radical. I play on Xbox.

Well, I've enjoyed playing Nightmare the most ever since I first played SCII, way back. Running around with Soul Edge and smacking fools is the only true way to enjoy the SCs. I remember playing through the Edge Master (Weapon Master? Something Master) mode in SCII as Nightmare and thinking it very funny how it all played out. His design is always really good (well, SCIII left a bit to be desired...), but his SCV design is the best. It's almost identical to his SCII appearance, and the way his eyes leave little purple streaks when he moves is just the bees knees. The way he plays too is just the best. Running around, swinging Soul Edge with one hand sending folk flying through the air and such. Eh, I just think he's the most fun and interesting character in the series.
