Ex-Zasamel Player, looking for a replacement

Sadly I've had to give up what really make SC so very much enjoyable for me, a strong character with a moveset that agreed with me on so many levels. Unfortunately, he is no longer a playable character and I've had to choose again. So far, I've adopted Pyhhra Omega for her strength, speed and as she is a character you have to play as in the story.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that played as Zas in SC IV and further back so what I would like to know is who have other devout Zas players moved onto?
 
I was not a devout Zas player, but I was a devout Talim and Zas player. So I felt twice your pain!
Although I played a lot of Setsuka as well, but Patboy feels so wrong that I'm going to say I felt thrice the pain.

I'm playing Pyrrha, but it's mostly because she is very simple. Most of her stuff isn't supposed to work, so she is reduced to poking, stepping, and punishing.
It took 5 minutes to learn how to play her even though I have never played Sophitia or Cassandra before.
It allows me to just rely on my basics without much effort... I've become a lazy SC player, but to my defense I have been influenced by the laziness of the developers.
 
Like Zas, Yun, and relic stance mitsu so i got nailed as well.

Playing apat now, but it's hard to say anyone gives quite the feel zas did. That said if you can stand the knowledge and execution levels viola and ZWEI do have similar feelings at times.
 
I think Z.W.E.I. would indeed come the closest to Zasalamel, although I can imagine Leixia and Mitsurugi working too.

A Seung Mina, Seong Mi-na and Heart and Soul girl main I have also felt thrice the pain, although I'm also throughly enjoying the characters I play now despite them being completely different (Viola and Leixia). Needless to say I would run back to Mina again if she would ever show up again.

I wasn't big on Zas so I don't really know how he played so to speak so I'm going to make a very very ignorant assumption about his play style.
Zas had a lot of drag moves that pulled opponents closer, seemed like some frame traps were heavy on him. I duno about tech traps but I think he had a a few. So I'm assuming he was about controlling your opponent and frame trapping them.

Sounds like Zwei to me. All of the other characters I might recommend would have already been around in the last soul calibur so I don't think it would be any help. Viola may have minor similiarties to Zas but I feel the ball placement and control might take you way too far out of your element. Patroklos may have some similiarities in terms of his properties but if he doesn't I haven't seen them yet. Haven't played him enough. Either way he feels more like the typical sword&shield user to me in comparison.

All in all, go with Zwei for the character control and frame traps.
If you want character control via spacing and some frame traps go with Raph.
