Well he's alright. I enjoyed the little look between him and Loras.

#TeamRenleyFaceless Men is interesting, but I dunno it's all a bit stunted feeling? Like, I'm not suggesting he rush or anything, but it's so far removed from other events it's starting to feel more like a spin-off.
I like Cersei a lot, she's an interesting character to hear about, being clearly batshit. I like Marg too though, and I don't have to pick between them.
#TeamStannis
True. It kind of just happens, I think. Margaery would make a great queen but it seems like Varys has other plans. And I take back what I said, I do like Margaery, it's just whenever I read a Cersei chapter I get Stockholm syndrome and identify with Cersei lolI don't understand why people like Cersei at all, and I normally like the villains more than the heroes. She's borderline retarded. It's already clear how much more circumspect and benevolent Margaery will be.
Hopefully, Arya will eventually make it back to Westeros and be able to give the gift of death to all.Faceless Men is interesting, but I dunno it's all a bit stunted feeling? Stannis gon' die anywayCersei 'gon die anyway.
I'm hoping for Stoneheart to be set up prior to the finale (have Nymeria drag the body out of the river, have the Brotherhood have a few scenes beforehand, etc,), but I expect they might try and just smash it all into one scene.Yessss that will be great if the Ep 9 is the scene where Tyrion escapes and goes on a rampage with his crossbow, and Ep 10 will be She don't speak, but she remembers.
It just goes to show how powerful GRRM writing is to make people cheer when a 13 year old suffered and died (even if he did deserve it).
What do you think of Arya's story with the Faceless Men? I like it, but I wish she could still be in Westeros so she could destroy everyone.
Considering the fact that she has been abusively raised by a man known for ordering the murder of babies and extinction of Houses, lost her mother at an early age, and had her ambitions crushed by said abusive father, you can't really completely shit on her. She is lied to (in her mind) by her family and anyone remotely close to her(for example, Genna and Tywin telling her she would marry Rhaegar) and she is haunted by an old woman detailing her death and the death of her children. Cersei has been condemned for being a strong female in a world of male dominance, she has been beaten and maritally raped, and she has developed a twisted sense of self, mainly due to a lack of role models/moral development as a child.I don't understand why people like Cersei at all, and I normally like the villains more than the heroes. I agree with you on these points; I certainly see that she's sympathetic. But I think you overstretch a little - Daenerys, for example, has also had a difficult life; so has Tyrion, for many of the same reasons as Cersei. The difference we see between these characters is that Daenerys and Tyrion rise to meet and overcome their challenges, becoming better people - and not to mention more competent leaders - in the process. Cersei believes that people's lack of respect is because she is a woman, and some of it probably is, but Daenerys already leads a vast and devoted army and the people of Westeros love Margaery; the real reason Cersei has no-one's respect is because she is an incompetent and vindictive ruler. So as I say, I see that she is a sympathetic character, and I definitely find her interesting; I don't dislike her, really, so much as I find her seeming popularity confusing (I suppose it will be for different reasons than the ones we're talking about). It is a stretch, though, to blame just Tywin and the circumstances of her birth for her personality and behaviour. Indeed, if we do, don't we then also have to blame Cersei for all of Joffrey's excesses?Considering the fact that she has been abusively raised by a man known for ordering the murder of babies and extinction of Houses, lost her mother at an early age, and had her ambitions crushed by said abusive father, you can't really completely shit on her. So yeah, Cersei is crazy, but there is a reason for her madness. It's not entirely justifiable, but she is literally just repeating and enacting everything she "learned" from Tywin.

Sooo, tonight's episode. One big thing that I don't really like is that they're changing up Arya's story. The Hound should be dying from Raff the Tickler's wound if I'm not mistaken. Although, the dialogue between the two is pretty funny. They're most likely moving Arya's story back for later in the season, like Arya abandoning the Hound in Episode 9 and then leaving for Braavos after showing the sailors the coin in Episode 10.
What do you guys think?
I think that story changes don't matter in any way and the show should be judged on it's own merits.
Like any and all things based on a different thing.
I'm hoping we get to see as much of them together as possible. Rory and Maisie work really well together and I find their scenes some of the best on the show, dramatic or otherwise.Sooo, tonight's episode. I was thinking, they could have them constantly hear about the Brotherhood Without Banners while on the road or going through towns or inns. It would give any watcher a reminder of who they are, especially if they mention how a new woman is leading them, Lady Stoneheart. Arya could be sitting in a bar with the Hound and she can overhear the people next to her talking about it or something lol (but only after her Nymeria dream!).I think that could be legit. Arya and the Hound not being settled in one place is an excellent way for the show to get some world-building and backstory in, and they're not deviating too much, so it's fine for me, though I can appreciate your concerns too.
It's inevitable that comparisons will be drawn, though I'm happy to see the GoT fanbase are far more accepting of the changes than the LOTR fandom.
Hoping someone has some caps of Olyvar there :P
Yeah, I didn't really know why they changed that. Cersei pretty much wanted it in the books and now Jaime looks like a jerk. Maybe he just felt that she'd appreciate him more after he finished. Maybe.I'm hoping we get to see as much of them together as possible. Rory and Maisie work really well together and I find their scenes some of the best on the show, dramatic or otherwise.
My only gripe with last night's episode was the change from a consensual sex scene between Jaime and Cersei to a completely out of character rape scene. Jaime Lannister, the man who said he'd beg a man to kill him than be raped if he was a woman, the man who saved a woman he didn't even like from being raped, the man who felt physically sickened by the sounds of Aerys' repeated raping of Rhaella Targaryen, the man who wanted to kill Robert for raping Cersei obviously would be willing to rape the love of his life.
DANY THO Y'ALL DAAAAAAANYYYYYYYYYY
